Had some fun ones on the longboard. Had a run in with a local serial wanker after he looked at me and dropped in anyway. When I asked him what he was doing he said he had a look to see who it was then went.

As a consequence he didn't get a wave to himself for the rest of the time I was out there. Another local told me someone shat on the wanker's car yesterday.

That made me feel good.

Another local was calling me in on one wave when he saw me set to burn Vernon ("Burn Vernon the burner," he was yelling). When I paddled back out laughing and asked if he'd seen the original incident he replied he hadn't and just wanted to see the wanker getting some payback for past misdemeanours.

Very funny. Very very funny.

Thats only funny bacause it happened to someone else....

I also like , " I was up and going mate why did you drop in?"..."Because I checked and you'd been riding long enough"

"Are you going mate?"...."Nup and neither are you dickhead"..usually followed by the sound of two boards colliding

...or the classic "yep...yep...yep my wave" coming from a the bloke that's just dropped in on you

If someone looks keen to go, I just tell them to go most of the time...had one hell of a party yesterday. 10 to 15 people out frothing in clean waist high waves. 2 to 3 to a wave in longboarding conditions allows for more fun imo. Mate in front of me started riding backwards, so I copied him & we both wiped out at the same time on the inside ledge suckup. Both came up laughing our heads off

Easterly wind here and crap everywhere plus tourists . Probably had 2-3 surfs and the past few weeks. Might have a look late if the wind drops off.

Oh forgot the best bit. He called me a blow in. After some discussion, my 19 years here trumped his 14. Neither of us born and bred.

You're not wrong Sandsy . I'm going to paddle the river this arvo , have an early night and get up really early to try and beat the tourists.

Cheers yeah I laugh when I see people getting upset about someone in front of them on a fat waist high wave when all they're doing is trimming along. My attitude started with me riding a shortboard & telling them to go coz they'd zip along to a different section while I was cutting back to remain in the pocket of the first section, knowing its unlikely I'd ride through the flat to the next section...doesn't suit all waves, but certain waves on their typical day are fun to share. Should say its a different story where Drip surfs, I didn't mean to detract on what he said at all...just how I feel about surfing my backyard

Dont mind if friends drop in comfortably in front of me on small clean waves. I know I wont catch them and probably bail before they do. Its a buzz sharing waves!!

Yeah can be fun in small conditions in longboarding waves (fat)...all the old longboarding movies had people having fun sharing waves. Someone once said to me it was Miki Dora who changed that mindset, probably right....thing is with so many people in the water these days, a bit of sharing like the old days is a good idea imo provided they can take off & set a line away from you.

Had a mate turn around & shout crossover today & he cutback while I rode high & passed him. I thought it was pretty cool

Really good waves today better than most were expecting. Head & 1/2 with occasional bigger fairly regular sets. Kinda crowded but I took a shortboard out for the first 2.5 hrs & sat on an inside bubble on my own for most of that time catching the middle size insiders. Then swapped over to the longboard once the crowd peaked for another 2.5 hrs & I was getting tired. Wind turned light onshore & just about everyone went in except me & a mate plus a shortboard guy sitting 1/2 way inside...Epic day & we've had a great run for this time of year. Usually pretty desperado from NY's...Starting out to be an awesome year

Swung by Kirra on my way to a business meeting and ran into this chick in the carpark who was pulling everyone over asking for some dudes that go by the names Prez & Pup. She said they owed her $50, I didn't ask what the debt was for but she asked me to pass on this pic to them............

Please explain fellas???

I wasn't going to surf today, planning to rest a minor injury. But it just seemed like to nice a day not to hit the beach. Was expecting a gazillion frothers down the beach so I waited for the breeze to come in & ended up getting wave after uncrowded wave of waist to chest in boardies & rashy for 90 mins
