Last time I was here at this time of year was 2012. It was exactly the same. Maybe Huey hates me?

Some fun waves to start the year off, bigger than expected, clean & surprisingly uncrowded apart from the mums & dads on the beach who rocked up later

Hopefully a little bit left over for tomorrow. Friends are gonna be staying with us & their daughter wants to learn too surf.

3 great fun surfs today. Boards are all packed away sadly as have to fly out tom. Probably not bother surfing in Bali on the way home. Just relax and eat some good Food. Probably no more surfing for me for a few months. Lucky I got my fill this last month.

Caught up with Pup early at guess where???? - Kirra carpark
Not much on offer there so off to meet mac at LM, we were greeted with around 1' of clean swell and we made the best of it. Mac's new nose rider went brilliantly, a beautiful board!!
I had the new 11'11 out for it's maiden voyage and made an absolute pig of myself, the fact you can sit out that bit further and be up and on before others are paddling means I'll have to learn some restraint at times.

It glides on really easily and just flows through the dead sections and picks up the reforms well. take a couple of steps forward and she just takes off, almost too fast and then you have to pull it back into the shoulder again. Overall I'm stoked with it, great job Mr Goddard!!

Good to hear you boys enjoying your big boards. That's gonna be my goal to get one this year too

We did go for a second surf yesterday arvo which was perfect for kids. Some soft rollers off to the side of the local that had 'em stoked. Was a bit challenging for them at the beachie this morning, swell was a bit big for them at the occasional double over head for them & about shoulder height for me. So a bit of foam bashing on the inside was the go. Was stoked they had a good time. Even saw some dolphins surfing the waves which really impressed them

Good work mate.

I left home at 2am to meet up with Pup and Lance, Pup got to Arra before me and reported that not much was on offer so we proceeded to main beach and had 2-1/2 hours of nice little A-frame sliders. New board performed flawles.
