Surfed once, DVS Wasp quad fish. Concave deck, double concave bottom. Currently chilling at my mate's place at West Burleigh until I figure a way to get it to the Sunshine coast and into my shed under cover of darkness.
Excuse the crazy aspect pics.

I am getting nothing this year - neither is the chick. Today we commenced packing. That's our gift to one another - card board boxes and rubbish bins! We are moving house in Feb so need to start now.

How's your nano working for you Ted?
I hadn't ridden mine for a while due to lousy waves and then I scored the MR flying fish and been having twin fin fun on it.
Had 2 really great days of waves back to back early last week and rode the 2 on consecutive days to compare.
The MR matches the speed of the wave really well and surfing the wave in more conventional lines.
The nano has such pedal to the metal speed the lines I take are completely different and the beat the section game is a piece of cake.
Both great boards.

I have hardly ridden it. Been flat out with work, moving and the surf has been crap most of the time when I have had a chance to surf - I actually went mountain biking 3 weekends in a row at one point to alleviate the pain! When I have ridden it I like it a lot. I really need to spend a few days on it in some quality 3 to 4 ft perfection - then I will give you a good run down. But to be honest I just have not spent enough time on it. Jan is normally a month when I do not surf that much as everyone comes to holiday where I live. Come Feb that will change - as Feb is when I move.

To put it in perspective how bad its been and my availability - I brought a new board in WA at the end of Nov and it still has not been ridden ! I have not even put the fins in it yet. Its been terrible.

To put things in perspective, your new boards for good waves like your 2nd last Indo trip, not your typical local local. If I was waiting for a day to surf my local with that board, I can only think of 1 day in the last 6 years I've lived here where it would be the go lol...where'as say Gland it would be the allrounder

That what I reckon with the puffer 5 bloody goes unreal and im riding really crap small waves. Like you said more conventional lines than the nano.

So liking the mr. I thinking his boards might be underrated.

So teds finally on the move

have you tried the nickel.

I thought it was a pretty smart board. adds some squirt to my surf skate routine so harder to do and more rewarding.

I also like the flex of the deck.

the shop board penny nickel gets used by everyone

I recall just a few years back surfing Little Bombie at 6ft on Christmas day. Wonderful start to the day. Its been so terrbile here of late - like way worse than normal.

Mick - I hear ya - but I should have had the chance to ride it in at least some 4ft plus good conditions at least once I was hoping - but sadly not. I am hoping it becomes more of an all rounder for me going forward.

As for Hawaii - I think you should go !!

Totally understand, I have am Al Merick Gravy I am sure would be awesome in a peaky beachy. But thats rare for me so its on the sale list...But if I were faced with conditions you described on your 2nd last Indo trip I'd be disadvantiged with my quiver. That boards strong & ready for solid waves. She's a keeper

Hawaii...is yet to be approved by the powers that be, but looking very promising. Wifes keen, just gotta apply at work n see

I am backing ya to get that trip over the line Mick. You have the skills to negotiate that one. Why not go later summer (their winter) before school goes back?

I would not mind some of this on Christmas day - here is my old local - why did I ever leave ?

You don't know what you have until it's gone. I have hit every legendary East Coast surf zone over the last couple of months and this surf trip has just highlighted how good home is.

And I hope for something Mctavish.
