Lacey you must be laughing your head off mate with all your banter about my boards when in fact you are probably worse than me,no you are worse, how many Bobsleds how many MR's have you sold then reordered, how many stand up boards have you sold then reordered. There now this is the truth.

Is this the old ladies arguing with each other thread?

Area space helps when you have developed speed...volume helps get to up to the required speed...area is less helpful when paddling...volume is less helpful when up and riding

Like everything in life its about balance and preferance...if you take from one place you generally loose in another place

Great design leaps are usually made by making massive leaps followed by small refinements....are you trying to refine without leaping?

Very interesting. Since ive canned the 666 surfing and mainly trying to surf shortboards again it been a struggle to get it right. What you are saying applies.

I keep trying to squeeze back down to where i was but that wont happen because im that bit older.

The right board is the board that gives you the most stoke and the best wave is the one that gives the brightest smile.

Keep it simple and do whatever gives you reason to start each day happy and healthy whether that longboard, shortboard, McTavish or whatever else tickles your fancy.

Speaking of, can you let me know next time Lacey surf's an MR, I'd be keen on a "surfed once" bargain on GT

I have a 5 10 mr bumblebee. 40 litres i think.
Rusty smoothie 6 ft 35 litres

Have a 6.2 mr flying fish next week. Trade up from a 6 ft ff. It was a bit to small. Theses two boards have a reasonable amount of rocker for fishes.

A mr bush ranger 6.4 36 litres. Heavy rockered board.

And last a 6 5 lost round up.

I think most of us come on the forum to talk about surfing not listen to two middle age men argue about it.

Mac if you want to buy tonnes of boards I say go for it. If it doesn't harm anyone or your life whats the big deal.

Same goes to you Lacey and all other breezers who buy and sell lots of boards. I'm sure lots of us have sold boards only to buy similar ones in the future.

Let's keep it positive people

i found when i bought a higher volume board 6' with 38ltr i had to adjust the way i surfed,i caught heaps more waves which was great and probably surfed smoother as i was drawing different lines than my 32ltr 6'2 rusty, not surfing as vertical but was having so much fun with the speed from more down the line surfing.haven surfed the 6'2 much since but will be back on it after winter.

I'll clear this up for you McHenry.

I start a surfing related topic by asking a question then it gets turned around and becomes all about how many boards I've owned that may be similar.Lacey has a habit of doing this so I call him out so the forum has a better understanding of the TRUTH.
At no stage are Lacey and I arguing, call it banter at best but not arguing. We have known each other for 30 odd years.

I'm the one who has tied to keep this forum from dying a slow death at times by putting myself out there and often get smashed for it,so how much more positive input do you want

Driving back from Byron with Lacey our conversation turned to volume and Lacey said 35 litres is where he is comfortable with.
His 10 foot Seaplane had 90,no wonder he was a big on the thing.

Yep . I can relate to what you are saying. Before i started 666 i was working on about 27 litres depending in tyoe of board.

Certainly past that now

Come off it Mac, you contribute to lots of great longboard threads with fantastic info and photos.
but the lacey and Mac show is happening in nearly every thread now.
im just saying keep it to one thread,so I and others can avoid it.

Less rocker is going to help you paddle better and you'll go faster...think Simmons or DVS fish...less toe and cant on teh fins can make a big difference as well

Yeah. However im looking for the flying fish with that bit of rocker so i can penetrate shallow hollow beachies. Something like the smoothie you have to nurse on take off and the waves gone without you.
