That freiken flyer is quite as radical as the photos suggests.
Should have it soon..he's been turning them our in 2 weeks ish lately

Sounds awesome but are they 9 plus boards? If not why is this rubbish being posted here?

Here we go.
Mac trying to rule the roost
It was only a matter of time. I inew it from his earlier post
He has you in his sights hydro. Just hasnt quite go the guts yet so hes going me- piss off mac
Stop being a jealous dick

Ps. Good evening Hope your relaxing over there mac

Me in his sights?

Whatever did I do?

I just politely pointed out what the grown ups were talking about when he took it upon himself to interrupt and have a little dummy spit.

I then nicely invited him to join in the discussion with something relevant to his expertise.

I got no quarrels with MAC or anyone else here. I simply state my opinions based on a bit more thought than resentments, prejudice and bias.

If Mac or anyone want to challenge my perspectives with facts I welcome it, I honestly value anyone and everyone's views and opinions that challenge mine.

Because at the end of the day if I am arrogantly wrong and accept no feedback then that shows a complete lack of character and consideration on my part.

So if Mac or anyone strongly disagrees with anything I post, and can prove I am wrong or mistaken based on fact the I will happily retract my statements and learn from them.

So now that is clear can we get back to discussion on twins, twinzers, duos or any other configuration of two fins attached to any size or shape surfing device including mid length, long board, short board, boogie board, knee board, skim board, water ski, rescue board, hand plane or even surf matt.

It's all fun and educational.

That is all.

I'm not smart enough to disagree with anyone

Just Copy and paste it from google and pretend you know your ****. ..

Very hard to be grumpy while living the dream anyway I hear big swell hitting GC LACEY watching or getting one of his many twin fin boards waxed and ready

So ignoring all the BS and getting back to the discussion at hand.

My MODII twin fins arrived yesterday. Gotta say for $60 I am super impressed, nice flex at the tip with good base stiffness. Less than half the price of the Soars I would love but I think they will go well.

Set them up in my 6'10" Cjet and have a question.

The Cjet is a square diamond shape tail, it has hard rails in the last 25% of the tail that soften to the nose.

Comparing this to say a similar length Morning of the Earth it has harder rails that look to be around 40% and a swallow tail and flyer that will add bite to a twin setup.

Without immediately hacking in a swallow tail on my board I'm thinking my best bet to give a bit of grip at the back end be a stabiliser.

Sorry big picture of a small fin, only about 110mm height.

My twin placement would be the same as the MOE board.

Be interested to get any feedback or thoughts on this? I know that others have run this arrangement and was wondering if I jump straight to the stabiliser or simply try the twin first. My thoughts are the stabiliser because I don't have as hard a rail or the flyers and swallow tail.

Thanks

It's a combo of grip and drive you'll get from the stabiliser. In small waves the twin would be fun but as soon as it gets anything like decent you'll find the lack of fin area in the tail will make it like riding a stolen Coles shopping trolley with a wonky set of wheels.

Cheers guys,

Given me some food for thought.

Decisions decisions.

So do I go the Twin with micro stabilisers to a Quad?

Or the Twin with a single stabiliser to a Tri?

I've been riding it as a quad and loving it even with a hacked up set of fins combo. So I am heavily leaning towards the Twin Micro Quad set up.

I've only got a small stabiliser that I made from the tip of an old single fin, 75mm tall where as the blue one above is 99mm. Think I'll have a crack with that for now and see how it travels.

Best thing is that he Sanctum fins are good value so I can experiment a bit more without blowing the budget.

BTW if I worked for SBWB would I be linking Sanctum kit?

Yeah, but don't you only hang out at longboard spots Mac?

There's heaps in the lineups around here.
Handy as one can scope the surfers nearby for potential pickings when it comes to strategic paddling, positioning for waves.
Anyone riding a surfboard warehouse board is treated as a newbie until they prove otherwise.

They don't have to be big. This one is probably less than two inches and makes a huge difference. I say that because this board is a tweaked copy of another pure twin.

Ripper, that settles it, going with the small home made trailer and the twins.

Might need to refoil it a bit, 8mm might be a little thick hey?

Funny, I was doing exactly that to all the branded tossers on the weekend.

I think they underestimated the old dude on the pop out.

Seems that a label does not make some people surf better ;-)
