Well in WA I'm stumped as to what you can and can't do within your region?

Mine is Perth and Peel, but I can not find a map anywhere that defines those limits?

Can also not find anything telling me that I can't drive to the beach for my regular type of exercise?

Unfortunately unlike some I can't afford a coastal suburb address and walk to the beach.

Why. Why is surfing being seen as the no1 sin. When people are out all over the place

Is it because surfing is seen as enjoying yourself and we cant have that.
Is it ok to go boating and motorbike riding but not surfing.
Just putting it out there

Well you can't ride motorcycles and bicycles in the national forests as they are shut. Could easily catch Covid-19 out there!
No problem riding along busy bike paths though. Well on the bicycle that is.

I agree Lace, everyone i seen today seemed to be doing what they like, whether its classed as exercise or enjoyment.I rang the local Police Station and the local Council yesterday and was told "NO" beaches here were closed,I can go surfing or swimming as long as i dont sit,lay or stand on the beach,do not congregate practise social distancing and go to the car dry myself off and go home,so YES I was allowed to.I think to many people are listening to other people who think they know the rules instead of actually asking the people who know the rules!..
If they told me the beaches were closed and stay home,I would have

If you must go for a surf, and many claim they must, go for it.

But.....don't complain if the situation gets worse.

There are pretty clear directives, we have seen what has happened in the northern hemisphere.

Go surfing, but, accept the consequences of your short term gain.

The above post from yours explains why we are going to be in the ****

What annoys me is everyones(selfish/arrogant / ignorant / disrespectful )pricks ) use the argument of look at everyone else being a dickhead so i now have an excuse to be one as well. It is pathetic when we can see what is going on around the world

I do believe if most people were not arrogant/ignorant/selfish/disrespectful pricks that we could live a fairly normal existence...with a long wait to do things, not bad compared to the disater going on around the world....but nah we are all of the above and will ruin it for everyone doing the right thing

I watched ten humans ****ing around in the car park at narrowneck . **** surf, **** day with arrogant people being ****...there is the problem

We are more dangerous than the virus itself due to our own stupidity and selfishness

Breath in through the nose and out through the mouth

Stay the **** at home people...end this sooner rather than the mega disaster in the waiting

Like i said. Why the hell is everyone blaming going for a surf.
What about bloody runners. What about the bloody walkers. What about the bloody bike riders. What about anybody who steps outside thee house for any reason.

Clear directives. You can exercise is the directive.
They didnt say you can exercise but you cant surf.

Facts to support that assertion?

The stats tell me otherwise. I have a one in 5000 chance of coming across someone with Covid-19. To actually catch the virus from them I need to be in close proximity without social distancing for around 10 minutes. If I do happen to pick it up then it needs to be able to lodge in my lungs to cause real damage. To do this it much become airborne within me to be carried to my lungs.

Add into the equation that the virus does not like direct exposure to sunlight or heat, and that it is dissipated and diluted in water better than air and you have Buckley's to none chance of catching it unless you are an absolute tosser who goes around not practicing social distancing and licking shopping trolleys to demonstrate your approach to person hygiene.

Seriously us big kids know the damage that this thing can do if the measures that are specified by health are not observed. And the fact that so many other righteous health warriors are out and about keeping "healthy" and the fact that crowded shops and schools are still ok as an example of acceptable social distancing then how is surfing any more dangerous?

Seems to be a damn lot of double standard on display, this is ok, but that is not. This is acceptable but don't do that or you risk killing the world.

Me, I am frothing to go for a wave and seriously considering it when the next lot of good conditions roll in. In saying that I am also not an absolute idiot, if the car park is full I'll move along to the next one, if the break is crowded I will surf alone down the beach at the less than awesome bank.

And if I am out in the water and a crowd develops I will call it a day or move down the beach again.

Personally I think wave days should be rationed to keep the crowds down, odd house numbers one day, evens the next. Checked by surf patrols against drivers licence or ID of some sort, and If you run the gauntlet then you get a fine.

There are ways that this can be controlled and managed so that it is safe.

If you can't walk to the beach for your surf then you shouldn't be surfing/exercising

The Spit carpark is closed due to idiots. People are treating this like a ****** holiday. How about you can't go out of your post code if you need to go out at all. Cops random check and on the spot fine may help if you are out of post code.

Stats prove the average person failed maths
Dividing the number of cases by the population is flawed.. Due to the incubation period, test conducted only in certain cases and fact it can be transferred via surfaces not direct contact mean the simple arithmetic average does not reflect much at all.

Channel 7 news last night had a couple of French backpackers roaming around the Goldy having just crossed over the boarder clearly not self isolating.
They said they just gave the police an address in Qld and they let them through.
WTF, as I have posted previously round em up and drop off onto the Ruby Princess. They can party as close as they like there

Haha Baz mate its crazy you can go on your boat to fish if you are feeding the family two people only. I understand what they are doing like stopping people partying over on wave break island. The water police control the waterways a lot firmer than the police policing the roads.

So i hear the cruise ships are being sent packing from Sydney back to their ports of registration (quite rightly) with just their foreign crew on board. Where did all their passengers go? Assuming those aquatic petri dishes have offloaded all their passengers irrespective of nationality into Sydney hotels for a 2 week stay?

Love it.

Here's the thing.

You can do whatever you are legally entitled to do.

All you pitchfork weilding, torch carrying disciples of doom can stay cosy in your iso cages.

The rest of us will do what we are allowed whilst practicing social responsibility.

To all the other DH's who are milling around together ignoring the rules you all deserve the fines and the virus. And beyond that you should be foaled for risk to public safety.

All I see ATM is a lot of over reaction and fear.

Granted the message has been dynamic and the rules have changed dramatically, but if in you location you are allowed to do something, and as long as you act sensibly and with consideration then you have every right to do it.

And no one can tell you otherwise unless it becomes a legal mandate.

Real easy solution for all the bunker dwellers. Stay the hell away from anyone and you will be fine.

Nuff said.

BTW CF not a rant at you, just an overall comment.
