You maybe right here unfortunately, the surgeon is the best are and I was surprised when he said lets give it 8 weeks,I'm now 3 weeks in and my Physio also top of his game said this is no good re book an appointment with the surgeon who was giving you every chase to avoid the operation, walking my daughter down the ail in 3 weeks so there was noway I could have anything done until this was completed.

Bugger. How Long is that now? The meniscus is a pretty quick recovery. You should be walking a week after it. The longer you leave it the harder your rehab will be. My biggest problem post op was loss of mobility and strength as it was ruined for months before I got it fixed.
Surfing or anything weight bearing with impact is going to hurt. I'm surprised they said it was fine if they thought it would heal. I kept Surfing but mine was buggered anyway so I couldn't do any more damage and it didnt really cause any pain.
I asked my doc about avoiding surgery and he said only a small number will be able to avoid the op as it is cartlige and isn't great at repairing itself. My tear was too far gone and op was the only option. Glad I got it done, feels heaps better.

Yes SP mine kills to walk as I asked the surgeon when can I surf again he said who said you couldn't,I replied it kills to walk he said give it a go and I did and I cant turn if I do even a real slow turn off a wave its like a knife being stuck in.My physio said the other day this is no good you should have shown some improvement be now,rebook an appointment with the surgeon who was giving me a chance but I think the only way is under the knife 11 or so weeks its mentally draining.

Mac Mac Mac why not you have cover I know I've paid a ****load in premiums over the years but having had arthroscopic surgery on both knees and hand surgery recently I was stoked to be able to get in quickly surgeon of my choice and for arthroscopy for meniscus tears was out of pocket for under 2 grand plus back surfing 3 weeks after surgery. You're at the age where cover is essential not to mention optometrist physio dental etc . Sign up before your body makes you broke.

I'd agree with Ricardo, none of are getting younger and in many cases the sins of our past are catching up with us.
