You're kidding you need two of them Mac![]()
AndyrooMac you've read my thoughts there, I've been meaning to get down to talk to Nick to see if his ideas might match up with what I'm wanting to do.
Im not sure I know Tim?
Thanks for the offer too, if I spot you at the beach I'll ask for sure! Have been out Park, Cliffy, Rebound & Goats a bit over winter along with nearly every points day. Still, weekend paddler tho. I'm on the SUP a lot and noticed how dramatically my wave count went up... hence the mid length idea!!
Nicks a real nice guy and a great shaper if your after hp based stuff. I found when I tried talking traditional logs and old school midlengths we just weren't on the same page....
Tim is Tim Clarke from Devonport/St Helens but he's shaped and ghost shaped up on the northern beaches for years.... very good craftsman and has incredible knowledge on board building principles... www.facebook.com/TimClarkeSurf
I surf all those spots so i'm sure i've seen you out... feel free to paddle over and say g'day if you spot me kooking it somewhere, most likely on the blue mid atm.

That whole movie is fantastic it has everything and pretty chilled music too
found these couple of gems when googling bottom shapes, they make riding super flat hulls look easy!....

Nice looking board! What kind of rocker have you got in that fella?
I trust you've seen plenty of clips of Torren on his twins, both large and small?

and a new mid length coming my way soon, 7 3 twin for better waves....

I was eyeing off that thing, would of jumped on it too if I didn't just get the 7'2 Duo. Boards like that don't come up too often around here. Decent asking price too, nice score.
Hey AndyrooMac, have you seen the clip of Emerick at Off the Wall on another double ender midlength?
Dudes got a smooth style.
hey salty board won't arrive for a couple of weeks - i'm off overseas for work trip - but this image suggests a bit of rocker... You're right toobz gotta be quick with gold like that one. might have to shift out a really nice ian chisholm southcoast 7 2 x 22 x 3 bonzer to make room if anyone is interested, pic also below...

Looks fun, should be faaaaaaaaast!!!
My neighbor surfed his 7'4" Tim Clarke channel bottom and it was love at first wave, thing went unreal... his is a single though and a bit wider outline for us old farts

I haven't but that guy surfs amazing, and is apparently a brilliant shaper... seen some real nice stuff of him riding mostly fish
I love this bloke, and had not seen this clip,so bonus bonus
I met a bloke on the weekend who does his boards over here,I think his name was John neilsen, the board he had was so mental, the quality blew me away(I did not pick it up )
It was a replica of this one

No it wasn't, ....the one I saw was a square tail with crazy wings ,and it was a single fin![]()
Awesome old vid of Nat Young www.instagram.com/p/BqGsrvtHf0B/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1rs60ayi0ngms
Really like this 7'10" Morning of the Earth twin that Torren rides

Chrispy in the 70 early 80's there were a few Brothers Neilson surf shops they were great shops 3 brothers John and Paul and another, 2 were standout surfers of the time, these guys were some of the first to take on Hawaii and Bali, they had a shop in the Dolphin arcade in surfers when surfers was a great town.Closed up but started to make boards of those times again a few years ago , one of their sons owns Alfreds at mermaid beach.
Byrne Surfboards from Wollongong where contracted years ago to make Larry Bertlemans boards also,I remember my mate bought a black one and I went with him to pick it up.Where the board is today who knows but my mate is no longer with us

Interesting fish outline that one, the body and tail look like a mini-simmons with a fish tail and angled nose...
Looks very functional for improving wave catching ability and glide... Similar to a fish outline that I sorta had in mind to shape myself where its more of a Mini-Simmons with a more dynamic tail for turning and barrel riding.
The location of the leash plug is pretty crazy though, that would would tombstone like a B#$@h.
I know Bertleman liked the fins set further forward so its pretty crazy to see just how far up, I reckon thats a good 5-10cms further forward than my fish...
Sorry about your buddy too
Some really nice old footage of Bob McTavish riding a Mid...
