Hey Macaha...shame I missed u mate but it was tough to split from the fam when I was out of the water...catch up for a beer next time. I am back now.
therea another cool little surf shop called Kaion which is on the bottom floor of the building next to the outrigger reef....just got a couple of fresh 10 footers in. Steak shack on the beach is good too.
also some decent coffee at cafe glac? on the way there from your joint.

$50 for the week Al, thats a bloody good deal. Prices I've seen online are $50 a day...was that from a bloke on the beach or a shop

I'm staying a few mins walk from there

Funny enough when asking the locals for the best tide for Waikiki they all said 3/4 tide which I found out to be on the money no low as I was thinking.

Yeah Mick the southern end is a good spot,we stayed at the Waikiki Parc Hotel next door to Ty Gurney's surf shop, one street back from the beach and an alley way across the road almost straight in front of the channel marker.

That looks like a good spot Al...whats the channel marker & advantage of being near it Good place to paddle out from

Rest of the family booked the Sheralton through a Japanese company. It was showing fully booked for our dates when we went to book. Seems like everywhere around the island is at full capacity.

We found a fully self contained apartment on Seaside Ave behind the Sheralton with a full size fridge, lounge/coffee table, kitchen, shared pool & a free parking spot for 1/2 what Sheralton was gonna cost. As a bonus it has one of those eskys with wheels & a couple of fold up chairs Still 5 min walk to the beach...also booked a Dodge grand caravan (minivan). I've located the non touristy supermarkets on the other side of the golf course & have also made plans to sample some pale ales available from them
