I don't trust any government m8, thats my point. Your constantly backing them, that is my primary concern. I consider you smarter than that...your states restrictions are some of the most absurd, only running slightly second to Victoria and your backing them all the way.

I think I've only not surfed about 4 days in the last 3 weeks & there have been plenty of others doing the same. There are more people walking around, riding & hanging down the beach than spring/summer. Is it to our detriment? No, quite the opposite.

I'm not saying precautions should not be taken to avoid the virus. I'm saying a lot of the restrictions are over the top. I feel sorry for you guys...& peoples response has surprised me. Its disappointing to see people forgo their freedoms so easily. Some appear to be almost celebrating it.

"Its disappointing to see people forgo their freedoms so easily. Some appear to be almost celebrating it."

That is exactly the response that the government was hoping for and its just an example of social engineering at its best. And i don't mean tin foil hat stuff

Or does it show the difference in attitudes that exist in today's society between those that act in their own best interests and those that act for the wider society.

A short term inconvieneivce to save lives is selfless, complaining you have to stay home, watch telly and not go to pub or get your haircut for a while is a bit selfish in my opinon.

In reality most of us haven't given up much at all.
Our grandparent lived through a depression, got conscripted to go to war. Ask them about hard times and sacrifice.

Personally I still have food on my table, a job, healthy kids, parents etc. The only thing I have lost are short term inconviences and I'm okay with that.

What real oppression do we face? Uber eats not delivering to your suburb?
Do you think they will restrict our movement forever? What freedom will we lose long term in your opinion?

You want real oppression, death, restriction on freedom. look around the world and many places a lot worse of than us.

I agree,Im not saying what's right or wrong just the fact that the way restrictions were put in place along with backing from the media on most platforms made it easier for the population to accept and actually welcome the stricter measures and that was the aim rather than hammer us straight up with full lockdown and fear of major backlash which probably would've happened, and yeah we are really lucky to be living in Oz and have our great lifestyle and Im thankful for that always

I did start to ramble on a bit iso happy hour is starting earlier everyday.

But agree it was amazing the way the media fell Into line and sold it to the wider public. Maybe they were so fixated on the fear, death and destruction angle they didn't think they were siding with the gov and getting there message out there.

I think they went the let's eradicate it completely strategy. Interesting to see where they go now? Do they keep the borders shut till there is a vaccine? If they allow people on do they risk a second wave of infection.

Its not about how I'm thinking about C19 m8...I'm concerned about our future freedoms. I keep saying it, I feel the restrictions are over the top when people are getting in trouble for activities that are not putting themselves or others at risk.

I have no problem with what people are doing personally to prevent their exposure to potential health risk.

I hope I got my quoting right there.....
What gets me is the "what if", putting yourself at risk.
It's normally legal to jump out of small aeroplanes with some fabric tied to your back.
Yet we're not meant to go in the water because we are putting ourselves at risk.
Where I go out, if I get in to trouble, no one is coming to look for me, and I don't expect them to.
I'm not sure what my point was there, but it seemed good when I started.

To quote myself, and try and explain what I was trying to say, we should not accept restrictions on what we do that are not realistic responses to the risk of what we are doing.
Number of times I have required rescuing or hospitalisation from going in the water? Zero.
Number of times I am likely to require rescue or hospitalisation from going in the water? Zero.
Risk to myself or others from what I am doing? Zero.
I'll sit quietly by myself now.

first paragraph
pity the majority is the first lot you mentioned
I'm at a loss as to how even one single redneck inbreed can actually mention freedoms in all this
got nuthin to do with loss of freedoms it's got everything to do with saving any more losses of innocent loved ones and giving that thing chances to spread even further

Where do I continually back the government. I said they did a good job imo. There's a lot I don't agree with.

They locked it down and got ahead of it. Lots of things I don't agree with but in this case they have in my opinon done a pretty fair job with controlling the spread amd managing cases vs health care services available.

I don't think our lock down measures are any more strict than the rest ofthe country. We can still surf, go out just need to keep your distance and stay local. What measures do you mean?
In reality it doesn't affect me really besides my kids. I still go to work everyday, surf when I want just can't take my kids to swimming or the park.

The meme things I don't put any value in, it's amusement to me.

It would appear pretty much every one of your memes supports a national lockdown & you post them after someone has offered an alternative pov...but if your just posting them for the lols nevermind. I can't help but take all this very seriously...I don't want to sound like a broken record though so I'm not going to run through why again.

Ok apparently Queensland is now 2nd to Victoria not NSW, for extorting money out of people due to the C19 restrictions. The data has changed since I last checked. www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-17/how-coronavirus-fines-are-hitting-australia/12155274

Fair enough if people are getting in trouble for doing something stupid like having a party but a lot of people are being fined for activities that put no one at risk. I havn't heard any stories coming out of Qld about people getting unreasonable fines, only Vic/NSW. Maybe because there's more media people in those states.

I'm happy to hear you feel your life has not been too adversely effected by all this. Thats good, I hope it stays that way. Just wish more people could say the same.
