We managed to capture a special moment between OB & MR after Ob's epic surf at Back Beach, it was obviously a very romantic time for both of them.

That is really clever, how did you do it![]()
I can remember walking onto the beach and then I said to myself "hang on, I think I had not done up the wetty", then I looked at this pic of me waiting to go out and realised I hadn't put it one yet.
Very strange, but still clever ![]()

No Ronnie was in Noosa sadly, but probably good for the McT boys or they'd be looking for new sources of revenue.
Can't believe my luck, after scoring good waves all weekend, I go down to my local a find some really decent sets Pity I'm too rooted to enjoy them

ha,I just did the same thing Ob,but decided not to go,the back is giving me some from the last few days![]()
I didn't get down, on daddy duty until Thursday but Lukie was insistant in sending me photos rubbing in how good it is !
Thankfully I wasn't there as I'm to sore too. Lol.

Our Weekend;
The charts suggested we were going to get good waves on the trip however mid week it all changed with the 'fake news' promoting 'a month worth of rain' for the weekend and the wind charts changed from 5 knot offshores to 20 knot onshores....it seemed we were doomed.
Friday started as forecast with showers, lacklustre onshore windswell and if I be honest, I almost turned for home at Newcastle.
After a wonderful spread by our host Pup on Friday night under clearing skies, a quick check of the charts revealed a change in fortune with possibly some decent weather and waves for the weekend.
Whilst the swell at first light on Saturday was still weak, the air was abuzz with anticipation as the wind glassed minute by minute and a 16 second period swell arrived mid morning. By 11am and after our board froth 'show & shine' layout in the park, we were met by 4 foot glass, low crowds, offshore breezes and gave much thanks to the surf gods for looking after us, disbelieving the change in fortune.
We split two ways with some hitting Arrawarra for some peelers and some, including me, hitting the back beach for some A's and then all hooked back up for a late afternoon glide at Arrawarra to see the day out.
Saturday night was meat raffle night night at the local and the elderly partied hard until 7pm however we were to sore to involve ourselves. Two beers and we were snoring and all in bed by 9.30pm.
The plan for Sunday was set in stone. Arrawarra for the early. Fortunately or unfortunately, Pup and I were the only grommets their ore dawn but we lucked it big time. 3 foot rolling down the point however as the sun rose, my arms turned to spaghetti and after a dozen or so, it was time to pass the baton into the second shift being our late comers who I believe owned it all morning !
A great weekend with an awesome crew and it just goes to show with a positive mindset and blind luck, trepidation can turn into epic ![]()
Hope you enjoy the video of the weekend below which I hope paints a picture. I've also added the GoPro clips from my Sunday Arra session and the dawny on the McCoy Nugget....just cause I can. Lol.
The download tool has been enabled on the clips. An awesome watch on the TV so feel free to download to your desktop or USB and watch BIG.

So I see you've got a new photoshop app.
Just for the record for those who don't know me, I'm not really gay, but I once slept with a bloke who was
and I wouldn't shag OB, 'cos it'd be like shaggin' thin air.....
It's a shame I couldn't make the Friday night shenanigans and Pup's most excellent meal. It certainly looked the goods for a protein rich hit to replenish and fuel up for the next day.
Thanks for such a great weekend you bunch of salty roosters... Had a blast, even though I had to put up with OB's constant crap.
and Vanders dropping in. The rest of you however were perfect gentlemen and a pleasure to surf with.
Great photos from SA, cheers mate.
Was pretty funny watching Climber on a 10 footer for the first time. I think we'll have another convert to the 10'+ membership.
And "Grace" what can I say. While I was at Bluesfest, my wife and I went to McT for a coffee. I saw the Grace 10'6" in the rack and thought she was gorgeous to look at. Gabi actually encouraged me to buy her, as an anniversary present. I wasn't sure, so I messaged Mac. He told me how much he loved his for the glide, so I went back to McT and bought it, untested. Then it took me two days to get her in the water, in completely the wrong surf, and I'd wondered whether I'd made a gross error of judgement. After that, I had to leave my broken car in QLD for three weeks until last Friday, so Grace has lived at my son's since Easter. The car was finally finished and delivered at 4pm Friday. I couldn't wait to give Grace a go at a proper point break. Arra turned it on, and while it took me a while to get used to the weight and how she paddled, I got a couple that made it all worth it. The last session yesterday was one of those where you know you're just too tired, and full of spaghetti, but you want that one last pearler to go home on. So I paddled to the outside again, by the time I got there I thought "If I don't get a wave I might be too stuffed to paddle back in. Tried a couple, but the tide had turned and was coming back in. Take off was too critically close to the rocks (for me on my new pride) so I drifted back to the others. OB had bailed, Climber was waiting for one last one, and I just happened to snag a wall that held up to the sand. I couldn't believe it. Decision ratified as far as I'm concerned. The glide and trim is something else. I just don't think I'll get to ride her that much around Sydney beachies, but at least I've got the Diverse hack for that.
Not sure how I made it home. Two sessions at Arra Saturday arvo, then two again Sunday morning. Left at midday with an hour at Taree for a cuppa with my Dad. By the time I got home I was fairly banjaxed.
Not sure what you saw this morning OB, but if you're talking the 'roy, I couldn't see anything when I drove past. Not that I had time, or energy to actually be able to get my board out of it's bag.... ![]()
Thanks for a grand weekend lads, looking forward to another sometime soon. ![]()
Cool clips SA
,great weekend with a great bunch of blokes

Ok I'll set things straight, there wasn't any romance in the hand holding, MR was simply trying to comfort OB as he was highly upset about bumming out his bottom turn, just a mate supporting another mate. no more concerns around your sexuality. ![]()

I really did bomb that second bottom turn, I should never have paddled out, I should have stayed on the beach ![]()
