Finally received the new Cadillac and let me say, am MASSIVELY impressed with this board.

At first glance the matte finish just looks sooooo sick and the resin job would be as good as I've seen. The artwork might not be everyones cup of tea but I LOVE it, and even the SB boys at the local were frofffing on the art. Jase has seen it and the pics just don't do it justice, I mean when Josh sent me the pics i was like "yeah, looks sweet" but when I unwrapped it, even through my delirium I was blown away... Its definitely the best in my collection

As for performance.... Well I surfed it in less than ideal conditions on Saturday, less than ideal in that it was about chest high but short rides as the banks just needed a bit more swell and secondly that I was still pretty ordinary health wise... Buuuuuuut, I was really stoked with how she ran, did exactly what I wanted when I spoke to Josh. I wanted great paddle speed and super stable and balanced, an old school tank and thats exactly what I got and it was a dream to ride.
I'll make a few comparisons to the Hot Log here:
Its more stable and better with cross stepping and walking the board.
It actually catches waves even earlier/easier, which is hard to believe.
It turns slower and definitely, its hard to explain but the HL turns fast and sharp and you have to hold back to do a big carve, the SL is heavier but probably smoother.
My feeling is that the HL is faster down the line and will handle steeper take offs way better
It truly is the older school log that turns better whilst the HL is the modern hybrid.

I really am stoked on this board in all aspects, we have a point swell rolling through this Wednesday and Thursday, based on the reports it'll be smaller Wednesday so i'll ride the SL and when its head high and over on Thursday i'll ride the HL and i'll give a more detailed report then.

Lastly, the Fin. This is JC's choice and its a 10" Hatchet or modern Pivot. It looks HOT in jet black and the finish is awesome, its doesn't quite have that nice hand finished feel of the Alkali but still very VERY nice . I felt it performed well but i'll get more of a feel on some better waves on Wednesday.

Anyway, that'll do for now, froff away boyzzz

Nice work mate - beautiful looking board. I am loving the colour work - I find it nearly impossible to decide on colours when buying a board - I usually stick with clear as a result... However I could definitely see myself on something like this, its a beauty...

Seems Mr Constable is turning out some pearlers... Does Yoshi Takeda still glass his boards?

Also are his sticks in the premium price range? McTavish type prices?? Pushing close to the 2g price ranges?

Great looking stick. The Creative Army Sweet Love 'Milk on your Porridge' Model. Just the thing to warm you up in the Tassie line-up. Whoot Whoot! ....

Andy; Great looking craft from a great surfer. The glide fin is handcrafted by John Ayton in Torquay. Have a look at his website Glide Fins. He has a good selection including his Josh Constable models. Looking forward to seeing the shaper in action at Noosa Fest.

Thanks boyzzzz, like I said i'm totally stoked on her, my wife, not so much as its a fair bit of foam and glass to take to bed

And now I only need that 9'1" speed machine to complete the quiver. Am very torn between a modified CW HL or the CA Jive, anyways, thats probably a while off unless my mate can come up with the cashola for the SubX, as he LOVES it and surfs it way more than me soooooo

@Mac: Why 10'1"? He just wanted that extra bit of volume to allow my 84kgs (now 80kgs ) to knee paddle, which is a handy adjustment when the arms start to tire.

@Leashless: They are below the MCT/Takayama price but not on the cheap end, worth every penny too... and I have to pay freight to Tas!!! and the price includes the sweet Glide Fin so well good Value. And yes he does use Yoshi but also a few others, I didn't actually ask him on mine.

@CrustyD: Thanks for the info on the fin, been meaning to do some research and if its a hand made its super well done. Model is the GX10 BTW

Deffinately a keeper dude. The points didn't fire but she had a few runs and just gets better as I get the feel for her. Still haven't had her out in good logging waves but when I do, I can already feel I'll be spending some sweet time on the nose

AndyrooMac - how is the board treating you? Had it out on those awesome Tassie points in good waves??

I have been thinking about this board and Mr Constables boards in general. I am still kicking myself I didn't buy Jasdeking's wife's board off of him (one nice looking stick) ...

I am thinking of biting the bullet and squeezing an order past the wife (overtime at work here I come ). Still waiting on the Bing Feral Pig to arrive and 2 boards is always better than one.

Just a little torn between a Creative Army or a Thomas. I have always wanted a Thomas but the CA seem to look just as good/if not better.

Anyone have any ideas on either?

Give JC a call or email and he'll call you, he is a really friendly guy and will get you on the right board for whatever you are wanting to do. So much advice and knowledge
