Long enough to sleep in if you put the seats forward.
At one stage of my life I could fit all of my possessions - mattress, stereo, maybe a chair in the Escort when I moved houses.
Lived in it for weeks - towell over the top of the barn doors to extend the interior.

That's not it, but that is me moving all my belongings in to a house in maybe 1984, 1985.
That's my mate Keith's Mk1 van, mine was a Mk2 with windows.
