Unless that old double decker bus is a tourist attraction, I can only say that it must be somewhere within the Sydney Metro area.
The year looks to be anywhere from 67 to 69 judging from the fins on the boards.
P plates are not really a clue for the year because they were introduced in 65, and all the boards would have had D fins back then.

I think I've eaten at that shop! Any ideas where it is??????
It's Palm Beach Sydney, pic taken in the 1960s,that's all the info with the pic.....

Awesome photo Mac, so much fun and memories in that one.
Morris/Austin 1100, FC Holden, P plates, double decker buses. did you notice the external stair to the top deck?
Not to mention Cobbity Farm bread, milkshakes, how about the HOT WATER sign. In the past people used to take tea and tea pots to the beach and get Hot Water from the shops to make a brew.
Thanks for posting.![]()

That makes sense. We used to surf up that way, before escaping Sydney in 1979. Good egg and bacon rolls, if I remember!

Yep, it's the Palm Beach (Sydney) Milk Bar, it's gone now. Replaced with the usual fancy cafe and designer clothing store. The Bus is either a 1940s Albion or AEC, perhaps but not likely a Leyland double decker waiting at the terminus before heading off on the 190 route to Wynyard in the city. Trip used to take about 1h20mins. The last of these were taken out of service around 1971/2
The Morris 1100 came out in 1962-3 not sure when it got to Australia, but they were made here. It doesn't look that new in the photo. The motorcycle is more than likely a Honda Scrambler CL 175, based on no pipe on the right side and runner tank pads. It's possibly a CB175 Sloper, came out in 1968. It has a front number plate which wasn't required after August 1975 and any self respecting motorcyclist removed them forthwith.
Based on that, I'd say it was very late 1960s until about 1972. But, it's definitely Palmy.....

"Things go better with Coke" was replaced by "The Real Thing" in 1969, so that suggests pre 1969.
Or they didn't change the posters.......
