Isn't the c bucket the same planshape as his glider?

Hmm not sure... I think it's the flat tracker ...c bucket is more pin tail...but even so one is 11ft vs 7'6...but if he's putting the same goodness into the small ones I'm keen!

He sure does, boards are real quality... I also own a Christenson fish and the board is beautifully crafted...

That place looks good. Report when you get back please.

Rails on the c bucket are round and a little bit pinched, they have some sharp edge right at the back. Think the flat tracker is the same

He calls the c bucket a more or less mini version of his glider, although proportionally a bit wider in shorter lengths. Around 21 odd inches wide in 7ft - 8ft they are more of a cruiser then a rip and tear board.

They work better in chest high waves then small non lined up waves. They are pretty flat so I find they prefer a flatter wave then a sucky take off . Although once your in they fly.

The sides just give it a bit of extra zip. The single gets up to speed a bit slower and like to stay on the same line. The sides make them easier to change your line and hold speed. Also comes off the top better and doesn't stick like singles do.

This is a good review too.
www.blinksurf.com/surfboards-and-equipment/christenson-c-bucket-review/

Others you can look at are

Jye Byrnes cross-breed, probably a bit rounder in the outline and a touch more rocker then the c bucket, really nice boards.

The Thomas Campell mids look good too, a bloke on here had one and liked it.. Maybe try searching for his review.

Others..
Tak flo egg
south coast slot machine.
keyo egg.
Mctavish bluebird. If you like a bit pointer nose.

Good luck, mids are great boards, you'll end up with more then 1

let me know if you have any more specific questions about the Lizzy or FT Cheers

I'm interested in a bit more info regarding your Thick Lizzy.... I'm waiting on a reply from Ryan and hoping to get one for the upcoming shipment over here.

I'm surprised to hear you say that it has a bit more nose rocker than the Flat Tracker - interesting, I thought the Lizzy was presented as being very low in nose rocker. Is it possible that this is actually a bit more rocker in the back half that allows the nose to ride higher when needed?

Anyhow, I can see dozens of planform photo's on the net but very few that give me an idea of the Lizzy rocker and rails. If you have time to share a few photo's that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Mikey

ps I notice too that the Flat tracker has been updated recently.... www.realwatersports.com/collections/christenson-flat-tracker

Need to give the quintessential surfboard on picnic table shot Andy!

I think you did did the same with the FT so would be interesting to see them side by side.

Hey Dude,

Once i get a few more surfs on the Lizzy I will do a full review and a comparison with the Flat Tracker. Also, I am riding it as a single atm and Ryan Strongly recommended the Bonzer set up so I am just waiting on his custom fins, fit them and a few waves to get the full picture, he reckons you get an extra 10-20% acceleration with that... which is nuts... because its already real fast...

Ryan is super hard to get hold of, I waited 18 months for mine but was well worth it. He's a super nice guy but he does EVERYTHING himself and he's heavily focused on living... so he gets well behind on his emails. If you listen to the Shaping Surfing podcast interview it gives you a good feel for the guy... freakin legend btw. I'll let you know when he gets back to me as I love the Lizzy so much already i think I need an 8'2"ish to compliment the current one.

Regarding rocker... it is super flat, it is a mini glider after all, but it does have a nice kick at the nose that makes a big difference. With the FT it kinda has continuous very mild rocker right through, rocker pic of the FT on the first page of this thread and check out these quick snaps from my instagram www.instagram.com/p/Bj8e0c-ng5v/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=pp0h94fyudrp

As for FT Mk2, I would either buy the C-Bucket or the FT Mk1. The refined square tail on that thing was a real thing of beauty, classic yet refined and worked amazing...

Yeew!

Awesome, Thanks Andy. Throw a link to that review when it comes in this thread would be good!!

One request: Get on down level with the board for those rocker shots!!

These two are what I normally ride so the low rocker midlengths are very much familiar to me! (And pretty much all I'm interested in riding)

Cheers!!

Nice one dude, they look awesome!!!

FYI, I heard back from Ryan straight away... he's well behind as the Trimcraft partnership just blew up on him. He has a huge backlog of emails from Aus and he's heading away for a bit and then he'll sort them out...

Good choice. Give it plenty of time to get glassed. Seems to be the way with Onboard.

What width and thickness are you going?

Yeah I got time before Indo next year!
at this stage I am down for standard but can talk to Chris before he does it, will prob go 3 1/8 v standard 3.
As for the timing it is not them but Rhino who take a while. I get Juan to glass some boards I shape and it's about 6-8 weeks wait but results are epic!

I reckon a C-Bucket in the 8'-8'4 region would go unreal. These mini gliders in that slightly larger sizes become really fast and smooth.

I'm looking at a ThickLizzy in that range to round out the quiver. given I can noseride the 7'7" it should be a great NR board as well meaning I can move back to one log, then the 6'4" and the 7'7" completes the quiver

I'm thinking a pale retro green...like that old green Holden colour. Maybe even get a pigment tint and will not get it polished.

Thanks Andy,

I did hear from Ryan a few days ago. Unfortunately the pricing is just a scratch out of what I can justify at the moment. : (

Nevermind, it provides a bit of extra impetus to follow my own path rather than take too much influence from afar... to that end I've just shaped an 8 footer to fill the role that the Lizzy would have taken.

Still looking forward to your review though!!

Hey dude, I'm waiting on some decent waves but its been rubbish down here with no pint swells and the banks are rubbish...

That said, i surfed it on the local beachy today and Tuesday. Today was average but Tuesday was pretty fun. Was a tricky takeoff as it was a real sucky rip bowl, it ran down the line then really drained out hard... The board handled it unreal, just has speed to burn and handles steeper drops awesome, seems to prefer them actually... Only had a few with enough wall for decent turns but mann, when you do, the feeling is unreal, best board i've surfed for long sweeping turns... on a decent point swell i think thats where it'll come into its own so fingers crossed we get one soon...

Cheers
