Not had any beef for a month fellas. Nice to be out of the Jungle for a few days. Need to make the most of your eating opportunities when they present themselves.
With experience comes knowledge some people lack both, what works for one may not for others, go your own way its a personal thing. If your a 10 1/2 shoe size go right ahead and squeeze into a 10 see how you feel.
Beef won't stuff up your arteries, sugar will.
True. Its probably the main factor these days.
Eggs are ok its what or how you cook them.
Same as beef
Beef won't stuff up your arteries, sugar will.
have a good look at the photo Roy.
saturated fats are the issue in that photo.
Broscience has even reached seabreeze - God help us all.
Don't know what your point is or what that word is,,couldn't be bothered googling it.
i think its good talking about food, food groups, as an older surfer diet and excises is very important in keeping me surfing.
lots of blokes from this room and others touch on diet and others talk of weight battles even food/lifestyle related diseases.
i don't know jack sh!t about it, but feeding young developing league players and working with nutritionist at the Broncs
gave me a little insight into food groups nutrition when to protein when to carb, nothing the average Joe's don't know.
i think we should talk more about what we put into our body so we can surf longer with obesity climbing in this country
and friends dropping dead we need to.

I agree it is important for blokes to talk about stuff like this but at the same time if someone posts a topic on surfing that isn't an LB people gets the knickers twisted up their rrrrrrs..
So what is the difference?
It is supposed to be a surfing forum and lately their is fark all talk about surfing.
And anything that is surfing related seems to get hijacked..
Just my 2 cents.
Stay healthy and look after yourself..

My point is (and like LaceyLane this post may come across strong) – you had Ted post a picture of a burger (beef, cheese, bread and potato) followed by a joke about how unhealthy that is… Then LaceyLane posted a “strong” viewpoint on this joke. This is then followed by the advice that the following food is bad food for us:
Beef, Cheese, bread, potato (all in the picture), beef (again), sugar and saturated fats.
To even make this worse the following is recommended to be eaten:
Beef and eggs.
LaceyLane also provides the suggestion that “anyone over 40 should have a hard look at what they are eating”. Whilst I understand LaceyLane’s strong emotional connection to the issue of heart disease, to provide suggestions on how to combat this with unproven “broscience” is irresponsible and frankly annoying.
Also Cobra, the suggestion that having knowledge about carbohydrate intake (also known as carb loading) and protein intake dispersion for developing (I am assuming teenage, as they are under your supervision) athletes is very irrelevant to an average adult and food consumption needs.
Now if I want to discuss health, nutrition and disease I will turn around and talk to some of my colleagues as this is the field we are in OR I will go to a forum where the discussion of these is at the forefront – However I come here to talk about surfing (and particularly fins within this thread).
Whilst I encourage the promotion and discussion of health issues I become frustrated when advice is provided on these issues based on little scientific evidence or research and solely on what your bro/mate/friend/acquaintance down at the café told you.

I did the heart foundation courses they offer to people like me
While I know nothing of what you are talking about but I reckon what they and my cardiologist advise would be a reasonable guide.
However I would be keen to hear what you have to say as im sure those guide lines are basics![]()

Actually one of the things I really wanted to know about was the truth about eggs.
The heart people tell me the cholesterol in eggs isnt ingested when eaten. Why I didnt know but thats what they told me
The main issue is the way they are cooked.
Followed by recommended intake 4 to 5 eggs /weekly
Heartfoundationbroscience![]()
While my heart is going great guns my bad cholesterol was up a bit despite my good cholesterol level.
lapse is I have a sweet tooth and I back slided.
It was a bit if a wakeup call to be honest
Anyway im done. ![]()

Well i think fins make a big difference.
First I would like to give a massive thanks to the crew at the salty merchants. I had a head snap off a screw and tried to get a new one. Asked about a fin suggestion for Lil channel bottom, as I have had issues with that board. Some days I loved it,others I wanted to leave it in the carpark.
Lach sent me a email back that night with a recommendation. A couple more emails and I ordered my newy.
Got it the day after STOKED.
Fin seems to be the right one. Am looking forward to some punchy waves to really test it. New fin
I have kept away from the product placement..... So let's see how I went ![]()
Product placement is all wrong, that fin looks too far back.
the tail is super wide with a flyer,so the board was super loose. The fin is 6 and a bit inches from the tail,so not as close as what it seems. ![]()
well I never thought I would see the day![]()
hey there champ...i have not mentioned or posted a cw pic for a very long time
if ya cant beat them![]()
