Second last day of summer, bring on Autumn which is the best time of the year for calm conditions and great paddling weather. Not enough swell on Phillip Island with an outgoing tide so I thought I would go that way for a few km.

Low tide sucked it all away and the takeoff points were very shallow. Off shore winds made it a good paddle.

Had some good waves the past week here. Had the 9'4 Creek out and it's been an absolute weapon. Have rekindled my love for this board.

Nice waves for the Top End Mango!!

We had an exceedingly lucky break in the feral weather we have been having in the south of NSW to run our first local club comp. The surf was very ordinary the day before.... but Hewy smiled down on us and cranked it up a notch for the comp. Too good!

Me and a mate having some fun on the 10ftrs.... you might recognize one of these boards Hilly....

Cheers Tardz!
Was so good eh man. Tides are massive at the mo' and the swell's dropped so thought I'll drag the big girl out for a flat water bliss-out sesh. Had an early night and got up before the sun, no-one around, just me and the birds, the fish were jumping and it was so peaceful eh. Geez it was good.Hope you're well mate and been getting into a few too. That Point Break of yours is a beast!!!

PS - another custom on the way. Will drop some pics soon.

WOW!
What a score Creeky!!! How amazing to share an encounter with such a peaceful animal. We get Dugongs over here - which probably fill a similar niche to Manatees. Super cool mate.

Always great to see your photos RR - the mighty Derwent - far out, how's the vista. I don't reckon you'd ever get tired of paddling that river. Just stunning.

Fair enough man - you've gotta know when to take it easy eh. Plenty more waves still to come. The new stick's 9'11 - still plenty of length for our mostly fat and fickle waves we get up here. So always trying to maximise wave catching and surfability. I'll post up photos when Dylan sends em through.

I miss my Search.... my Florida trip limits boards I can travel with, so my stoke has to wait till I get back home in May.

Great little paddle and 20 waves this morning. Took a new strategy to the crowded spot which is a reef break, waited to the side of the break until the large sets went through and everyone going for them. Once they were gone I paddled into the impact zone for the smaller to medium sets that no one was catching and had a blast, much better than hassling for 3-4 waves and 10 wanting them.

I've not had a surf at Pines yet cos always looks too busy. What a great day weather wise but sadly I was working. Hoping to catch a wave down there later in the week if I get my car fixed. Cheers and I hope we get to meet out there

You use Pines to paddle to a better reef as it has a large car park, yes it's always to crowded especially if the surf school is around.
