Happily surfers weren't on the menu when some orca cruised along past me and my friend at town beach this morning :)
Came about 200 feet away......but obviously on their own mission and not interested in surfing

That would scare the bejeebers out of me after seeing all those clips of them 'playing' with seals... but then I saw this on the news a couple of months ago, looks like the Norwegians don't feel too threatened (I'd still head for dry land)

Yep....they were close....but obviously had their own mission. Didn't even try to catch a wave :)

Haven't spotted Strange Maurice post Christmas yet.
Possibly the traffic is so bad no one can get on to the Island.
Or the sight of the fat man on the strange surfboard thing makes people turn around and leave.
Tried a DW run from Sorrento to Rye, wind and swell were opposite each other so did not quite work and the wind wanted me to go into the middle of Port Phillip Bay. Decided to stay closer to shore as the storms rolled past me, better to be safe as I was on my Pat Malone, no one wanted to play today!

Mornington Peninsula still, great conditions this morning and in the day to come going to get better!
Some nice peeling half to one footer and long rides at Cunjarong Point. Perfect for hacks like me
