Finally got the camera out and got a mate on some small Tassie waves.

That hack at the end had some spray. Nice gouge. Are you one of those lunatics that surf those sharky waters down there solo?

Hey RR what sort of JP is your mate riding (dims and model pls) and is it finned up as a thruster? He's getting nice speed and manouvres for small surf. Cheers for the vid mate

JP Prowave, possibly a 2022/23 model. 7'6 by 27 inches. Goes totally off in decent waves. .
set up is a thruster.

Cheers Hamish it goes off. I've got the 8'3" surf pro plus and have always ridden it as a quad and it flies and engages the rail really well, feels great. Lately I've been thinking about how it would feel as a thruster to get more pivot in the turns like yours and this vid will extract my digit and swap fins. Love my JP fkn awesome intermediate board

I love SUP Surfing.
You make something out of nothing and easily paddle to different banks in a session. Easier to read the surf from our standing vantage point.

Hey mate, I have JP surf pros and absolutely love them - they're fast as hell and love a steep face.

just remember that bc of the zero toe and cant on the JP fins, you won't get the drive that a true thruster gives when you run a trifin setup. A thruster generates drive from the opposing forces on the centre and outside fins when you turn, but this only works when the fins are at different angles (from the different toe and cant)

The JP is much looser to turn as a trifin than a quad, but don't expect any extra drive.

Enjoy playing around with the fins
