I go to the surf shop to buy rail tape, that's all I want, I'm not looking at who started what first, market share or not, I use the thicker tape,I'm part of the 95% of the average Joe market, if there is any performance difference in the board by using either tape then bloody ripper I have a chance to win tattslotto.
MJ if you win tattslotto can you buy me some rail tape please and I do question that rail tape is the only thing you want when visiting surf shops![]()
AND he can buy us ALLl one of those fancy blue DEEP boards that he's excited about!
Hahahaha there is something very Australian about when a topic that seems serious in content ends up having the piss taken out of it... Says something about the some of the content of that topic IMO...
If I win lotto, no tape no boards just the " milky bars" are on me....
Yeh I agree with first sentence. As for the lotto part you mongrel, here I was thinking if I win I would bye you a nice new green Deep to replace that horrible blue one, but forget it![]()
You all don't need to win lotto to get a nice new Deep board with any colour of your choice, they are Aussie made so we can all afford one. I saw MJ's new 10 footer yesterday, looks awesome! Want one myself!
Seems a few things need clarifying here and some interesting comments made.
I am the Australian and New Zealand distributor for RSRRO products and Ke Nalu paddles in Australia.
A quick bit of online research will show you the European RailsaverPRO was developed back in 2010 in Spain…..where it is still manufactured. I’ve got no idea when the Puka Patch product came into existence….more on that in a minute…..and it’s probably irrelevant anyway.
I was introduced to RSPRO by a mate that had purchased a roll of rail tape from the European online store and paid a horrendous amount of money to have it shipped to Australia. Very soon after I was approached by RailsaverPRO in Europe to see if I was interested in distributing their products. This was late last year and at the time the product was called RailsaverPRO. I was interested because it was such a superior product to the clear tape I’d seen other people using.
Before deciding to take it on I did a substantial amount of online research into all things RailsaverPRO and the competition. I don’t recall seeing a single thing in relation to the Puka Patch product.
The domain name www.railsaverpro.com.au was available as was the business name with ASIC.....so in my view everything was good to go and I secured the domain name and registered the business name ‘RailsaverPRO Australia’ so that I could legitimately do business in Australia.
To my knowledge the European RailsaverPRO was developed without any knowledge of the existence of the Puka Patch product of the same name……assuming it was even in existence in 2010?
I was informed soon after committing to the distribution of RailsaverPRO that all products were being rebranded for 2015 as RSPRO. The explanation provided for this was that it was shorter and simpler.....I didn't enquire further as it sounded good to me.
There was never any intention to cut the grass of the Puka Patch product as I didn’t even know it existed until this Seabreeze thread.
I though Puka Patch was the ding patches…..I’ve used them, they’re great for a temporary patch up job.
So now everyone can relax……you can choose from the European RSPRO or Puka Patch Rail saver pro…..the choice is yours.
There’s no shortage of crew on this forum that are happy to tell everyone what they reckon is the best rail protection
For the record…..the ION rail tape is manufactured by RSPRO and is exactly the same except for the graphics.

Thanks for clearing that up Dean, now everyone can get back to using whatever they are happy with and stop hanging crap on anything they can!
