What has changed on the new X32's besides being an inch shorter and no carbon option, what do they do better ?
If I had a criticism of the board it would be its slow to paddle onto a wave.
My carbon one has sunk where my feet are,has this issue been addressed?
Thanks

Essentially the X32 is the same board. Yes it is an inch shorter with a swallow tail now.

The board is also only in GTW to reduce/clean up the range a little (too many models previously), also removing the 7'10" and 9'6".

The new GTW construction has excellent skin tension and looks amazing. You should not have any issues with excessive deck drop in the GTW construction.

As for paddling, when most people think about a 32" wide board they are comparing it to models with much flatter rocker lines (like the Mana, Wide Body, Allwave etc..), the X32 has an aggressive shortboard rocker. This is what makes it so loose and transitional in the pocket, but this extra/aggressive rocker has side-effects like slower paddling.

This board is still one of my favourites for real world beach breaks. Allows you to rip the Shyte out of a guttless waves as a bigger guy, even in choppy sloppy conditions.

I hope this helps,

Ride safe,

JB

JB,

Do you know why Naish stopped the pro/le line of the hokua... An outstanding shape?

Globally the line was not viable. It is difficult to build boards that our pro riders want/need to ride and make them also appropriate for consumers. Our range now covers an excellent crsoss section of high performance boards with Mad Dog, X32 and Hokua.

This said I did do a sneaky order of new unseen 8' and 8'10" Hokua Pro's, available November. Limited numbers so speak with your local dealer and reserve yours before they're all gone.

I also ordered for Ocean Addicts some Casper Steinfath Pro Models, 7' and 8'. These are actually Casper's dims on his file. There is only one of each. If you're interested speak with Luke at Ocean Addicts.

Ride safe,

JB

Hey JB , have you got any dims / info / pics of the new 8 & 8'10 hokuas ? , and the CS pro models 7 & 8' ?

the 8' is 8 x 27.75 @ approx. 98ltrs

the 8'10" x 27" @ 105 approx.

absolute weapons. Ocean Addicts may have a 7'6" also

all the other small ones have gone. I have some gunny 8;er's from previous year 8' x 26" i think (fast).

These boards are not actually "production models", they are boards I special ordered with the pro team boards. They are not available anywhere else.

There should be a vid and pic on our facebook, I'll see if I can drag 'em here.
