Have 2 sets of Kanulocks probably getting on for 8 years old. Constantly on the car / in the sun.
And I mean every day - my boards live on the roof, always two up there.
The plastic covers are just a memory, but the tie downs are still great.
I rarely lock them, but when I do the old little keys seem to work fine.
Just need to pull the body of the lock in to a fully closed position to line up the lock
The lockable straps work well and keep your board securely in place but locked is just a bluff. The straps with their stainless steel wire can be easily cut with a box cutter!
Have just bought the "Lockrack Single SUP" 65cm set. A superb product. Has cut down loading/unloading of board to less than a minute. I have 3 boards with widths ranging from 291/4 to 32" and they each separately fit and lock rock solid. The rack is unobtrusive when boards are removed and there is no wind whistle at any time. The price is a bargain. The after sales service is exceptional which is the main reason I have taken the time to write this review. I have no affiliation with the company.
Good to read your comment re: positive after sales service from LocRack. I sent them some query's some time ago as i was planning to buy, zero response so I never followed through with a purchase. I might re look at them.
Has anyone used LocRock with sup and surfboard?
The straps are more of a challenge than the roof racks that are a gutter fit as easy to lever out.
This way one gets a set of racks and boards.
Unfortunate you had no response Dawso.
I phoned Lockrack over theIr Xmas break not knowing their office was closed. Dennis got straight back to me and he and Rod went above and beyond to solve a minor problem I was having fitting the system to my VW car racks.
I used Kanulock straps previously and agree with all of the above.
Have since found the Lockrack system so simple, quick and effective.
Can Lockracks fit to any roof rack system . Eg can I put them on my Rhino Racks ?
Yes
