for the social maratho race it is written
These Social divisions will race simultaneously with the Qualifying divisions

But for the technical race nothing is written
Will they be held separately or simultaneously?
Thanks

Hi Al.

The Community Divisions and the State Qualifying Divisions in the Tech Racing will all race simultaneously UNLESS entry numbers exceed a safe quota.

We've updated the event page to reflect this info. Thanks for asking.

The SQ Team sat down with a number of key SUP Club Committee Members and elite SUP athletes early in the week and have made a few changes to this year's Immerse Paddle & SUP Festival:-

- all ENTRY FEES HAVE BEEN REDUCED in the Community Divisions for Tech and Marathon Racing;
- a JUNIOR UNDER 16 DIVISION has been added to all disciplines

So get the youngin's on a board and come give it a good crack!

Cheers

Great to see listening to feedback

As an idea if the open do the normal Greenmount- Bilinga-Greenmount to Currumbin
Why not run social event Greenmount straight to Currumbin
just an idea..

Am I correct that I must now join Surfing QLD $55.00 for Insurance cover to compete in the SUP Surfing plus $65.00 entry fee
So to compete the cost is $120.00....

But to compete in the Community Surf Event I do not need Insurance?

Hi supsurfers. To compete in any qualifying division at a State Title Event, yes you must be a current financial member. This is across the board for all states and all surfing disciplines. The Community divisions are non-qualifying divisions so you are not required to be a current financial member. It is not purely for the insurance component but rather being classified as "state branch member" to meet the eligibility requirements.

Thank you but I find that fee way to high for one race... disappointing I know for quite a few who had been training for this event and now will not be competing... Surprised others have not commented on this... ????????

Looks like it's going to be extremely poor conditions Friday for surf comp with med NW winds predicted & less than 1 foot of swell on a mid morn high tide......the ripples will bigger when I cannonball into the bathtub , will the surf component be moved as Sun is predicted be cleaner with Southerlies but still less 1 foot of swell

I can't believe our luck , shifted from November to avoid Northerly crap and look what we get. I don't think shifting it to Sunday will help the swell isn't coming until the arvo. NW not so bad for the spit and some beaches just need this swell to bump a little.

Being a state title you could only hope it be postponed however as Stand up surfing is a new component in the over all scope of surfings culture I am not sure we will get the opportunity
Also SQ are flat out with events almost every weekend with all the other clubs events and series run in Qld

Its SQs call

Hoping for next year to take the Stand up surfing away from the SUP movement and have it as a seperate component with a best of 2 comp series

Hi
Looking at the forecast, is there a possibility for the marathon and the technical race to be swapped over?
Or whatever happens the technical will stay on saturday and the marathon on Sunday?
Thanks
