How do you find it waiting around out the back and cruising from peak to peak. This (LE 9'1"X32) is sounding like a great all round board. I'm about 10 kgs lighter than you and have come to the conclusion that a shorter board isn't necessarily more fun just based on it surfing better. I figure if I want short board performance I'll take out the surf board.
For general fun in a wider range of conditions, I find a shorter sup hard work, but I don't want to go back to a 10'2" X 32 either, some thing between sound the goods!
Hey bobajob, this board cruises around the lineup with easy. I'm forever paddling up and down the beach chasing the best bank. The 9'1 allows me to stand on a stationary board while waiting and the only time I sit is to have a chat.
I was was of the same thinking, just get one excellent quality board that will handle all conditions. Good luck.

And to the OP, going as small as you can handle may not be the answer to everything as I think I have found out. The big addiction to SUP for me is the fun factor which includes but not limited exclusively to actually surfing the wave.

Well, I am surprised by to read so many comments; good fun to read so many different opinions.
I now have a 9'1 Naish Hokua and a 9'3 Boardworks Kraken. I have been SUP surfing for a few years and I want to be constant cruisy fun but turn easier and that is why I decide to go with those lengths and widths.
