Yes, thank you I felt his post was a bit rude
Less than your first post :-)
As other have said, the cost for shops is huge, if you take into account the poisonous habits of the windsurfing industry that killed the sport: make insane high official prices (but without a big margin for shops anyways), that nobody will pay, since by trying to push people to change boards every year they must sell the previous year model with a high rebate... making demo boards all the more expensive since you must change them every year...
And since you seem so fussy with the distinction between 2015 & 2016 models, I guess you justify this marketing approach... chicken and egg, vicious circle...
My advice: try to stick to board makers that do not artificially change the boards each year (Jimmy Lewis comes to mind), or be ready to pay more to demo boards, or shop direct knowing you wont have a demo board, but the cost will be less expensive. But you cannot have everything: low prices and service (demo boards)
Sorry to have jumped on you, but you sounded a lot like somebody to avoid ("demo boards should be availble anytime anywhere"). On top of that I have no ties with any shop... with my links with Gong (which sells direct), shops generally hate me :-)
In a nutshell: are you ready to pay your boards $1000 more so that the shop can have a demo board of each model of the year, shipped to where you want? If so, please excuse me, I was definitely being rude.
I suspect selling stand up boards is a precarious business......and admire anyone who does so
Bunnings don't sell sups
The Warehouse doesn't sell a sup worth buying.
Some people do sell good quality boards and good on them.
You can't really expect them to do things like drive 300 km so you can demo their boards though ?
