I took out baby Shroom for maiden surf today .
Was a bit tippier than expected but became a lot more comfortable "more quickly " than my baby flow ever will . Very nice once on wave and easy to get rail to dig in .
One question i have is about board "maintenance " and the strange Shroom stepped rail at from of deck pad . I noticed a classic sunova shatter mark during the session. I am almost certain it's because I must place paddle at horizontal when getting back on board and the beveled shape sticks out and is more susceptible to marks . I could try and get on board differently but I still reckon I will do it when not thinking . Is it worth putting clear rail tape on his section to prevent damage or hex stickers ?
I've just come to the conclusion my boards going to get marked. I have tried surf wax, just to assist the glance of the blade, maybe try that.. But mines still getting whacked..

This sounds crazy but the second time I took board out I out on some thick sticky tape on each side where the board "sticks out". I then removed when I got back to the car . I have actually bought some hexatraction stickers. Might try these but don't want to detract to much from the board look.
Since the 60's, I have been telling everyone who got a new board, to whack it with a ball peen hammer and get on with enjoying the board
