Picked up a Game Changer 1260 combo one month ago and since then have spent lots of time playing with various combinations of tail wings and shims that SPG Australia sent across to West Aus. The past couple of sessions have been nuts fun.
After learning to prone foil on a high aspect wing exclusively, I got to the point where I was looking for a rig that could maintain that efficient and fast pumping like HA foils but also add the ability to carve on the wave face. The GC carves so naturally - the way it rolls over and the lift throughout the carve are both really flowy.
There are lots of breaks in WA where you need to chip in on one wave and pump out to a roller out the back, or 50 metres away on a different reef etc. People talk about pumping using different gears, and I have found this to be very true on this wing. It has a really wide speed range.
The perfect setup for my liking is as below:
1260 GC, 14" KD Maui SPG Tail, 75cm Mast, Medium Fuse
3mm Base Shim, 1.5 Deg Tail Shim
