Got my 1250 out in for the 1st time in some pretty good conditions, my fav left hander - 1-2ft with not much wind. (I'm 73kg - 60 fuse/72 mast/ 212/ +1).
First impressions...
It's fast and has heaps of glide - it reminded me a bit of the Sig Albatros 165.
Pump is very good as long as your going fast, I could pump it about the same as my 1550 - maybe slightly better but if you loose speed it's all over. I find I can pump the 1550 up to speed even from a low speed.
I found it turns good (faster than the 1550), breached the wing tip and rode out of it a few times - ate sh1t plenty of times also.
The lift is nice & gradual, less than the 1550 - I had it fairly far forward in the boxes today.
I'll be riding it all this week & hope to get it dialled in more, very happy with it so far - it's exactly what I was looking for.![]()

any chance I could see a pic of the deck of that board toppleover? Amos always seem to have the most creative finishes. If I'm right they've brushed on some clear resin stripes/swirls before coating it all in white and sanding back. I might like to copy that.

Some more of his work

Yeh I think my next prone will be an Amos, dropped into the shop the other day, what a top bloke, obviously great product he has 90 boards to make before Christmas.
Had another sesh this morning on the 1250 in smaller/weaker waves about - 1ft.
It still went really good, if you stay high it glides nicely on the smallest bump - turns well & likes the whitewater. Recovers from a breach pretty good, rode out of a couple that my 1550 would have launched me.
This could be the one foil that does it all for me but I still want a 1050
.
So i got mine yesterday. Broke away from work today during lunch for its inaugural session.
I would say that i am at the low intermediate level. Waves were about 1ft and barely breaking. I would have normally ridden my 1550 but wanted to try the new wing. I pushed the mast much farther forward than with the 1550.
On the waves that I caught, I did need to pump it up on foil. It needs some push or steepness to get up and going. Definitely feels faster and more slippery/nimble than the 1550. Pumping felt easier for my skill level. I cant wait to try it when we get some swell here. I may also push my mast forward a bit to get earlier lift too, but that may have just been the lack of wave energy. Lot of potential tho.

just had a sesh on the 1050 , and yes you will want one of them. Best foil ever for late takeoffs, bigger waves and turning, today for first time did a roundhouse off the whitewater and survived and rode away. I would love to try the 1250 and I recon it will have those same traits as the 1050 in bigger surf, which will give it more usable range than the 1550 maybe.

I think it's hard to know how the 10 & 1250 will compare in bigger waves. The 1250 is a hybrid HA/Surf & the 1050 Surf - the only true way we will know is when you get a 1250 & tell us ![]()

Or when you get your 1050 haha , noticed Amos is an Armstrong boy too.
Yep this a seriously good wing. Turns, pumps and is smooth as silk. Punches above its weight, very impressive.
Yes let us know the 1050/ 1250 comparison!
I have not spent much time on either wing but the differences are pretty obvious.
1250 pumps easier & has more glide than 1050.
1050 turns better and more responsive still pumps well for it's size to connect waves - great surf wing.
I want them all ![]()

Thanks Hilly, how does the 1250 compare to the 1200 .. I have the 1550 and 1850 - just looking something to step down to

The 1200 is a fantastic wing but for my weight (105kg) on a sup always felt a little small. I would struggle to stay on small waves and pump. The 1250 solves these issues for me it has amazing glide and stays up at relatively slow speeds. The 1250 is definitely faster.
The 1050 is insane ,its so fast and turns rail to rail like nothing else, I don't have the 1250 and some crew recon it's faster than the 1050 which it maybe in smaller waves , but I can't imagine it could be faster in the bigger stuff,I still haven't found the limits on the 1050 and I really don't want to be going any faster than I am already.Crazy good wing.
Not sure about that but when you turn the 1250 generates so much speed. You need to be active (pumping and turning) to get the best out of it.

Dont,t you love it
Yep. Turns so well ![]()
I know couldnt believe how good it turned even at speed
Had my 2nd session with the 1250. Lighter winds maybe 17 knots. For sure felt that buttery feel of this wing once up. I did have a harder time getting flying. I think I need i need to move the mast forward. Right after went back out with the 1550 and flew really easy. Any comments on the mast position of the 1250 vs 1550?
Further forward for lighter winds and larger surf. So in the same wind you would need the 1250 further forward than the 1550 to get similar lift, the 1550 will always have more lift. The 1250 is very sensitive to stab size too. Tried the 212 and got noticeably less glide on gutless waves than with the 232. On better waves it was really loose![]()
Can see that it has awesome speed and glide from the way it just kept going on those really flat sections where the swell was not standing up at all, can also see you would be able to rip much harder turns on the 1050 IMO, but not have the pump it has......can't have everything. wonder what tail/ shim / fuse they were running ?

The 1050 does not work for heavier riders on anything below shoulder high, I would have struggled to stay on those swells. 1250 turns really well for me but I have 105 kegs onboard. Great to have options.

Agree, Im 80 kg and riding prone on a small board as well , not a SUP , I bet the 1250 to you probably feels like the 1050 does for me.Have you found any limits to the Speed/ lift on the 1250 yet ?

Waiting to find out. Considering I have towed into triple overhead on the 1850 the 1250 does not present any issues I think. The 1550 is ok in double overhead so looking forward to a decent swell.
