Ah - I hadn't considered using that space - my chart table cupboards are full of stuff I need for ready access. I guess it's a good spot though.

can you post some pictures?

Well, it isn't a Jarkan 10.5 Centre cockpit, that's for sure. I think it is a Europa 10. It should sail well.

Definitely a Jarkan Europa 10. I built the last one before the mould was destroyed in the 2001 bushfires that went through Huskisson/Woollamia.

Awesome i thought it might have been just wasn't sure thanks troubadour.
Wander66 i didn't change the name but my wife wants to name our tender "Fairy"
Aw that's sweet. My boat's Itchy Feet and the tender's Scratchy

Thank 4 bells giving her a bit of a refit then will be out there
I'm sailing from southern NSW up to Hervey Bay over the next few weeks (starting this weekend)- pending favourable weather. The Jarkan hull form makes for a nice ride at sea. Enjoy your boat, and remember that sailing it is much more fun than sitting in a marina fixing it!

Chowringhee was for sale in 2018
Hey mate. Do you by chance happen to have a photo of Chowringhees transom? Looking at getting the lettering redone but its pretty faded. Having dramas working out the finer details of the font
Hi Everyone,
I have only recently found this forum and it has been very interesting reading about the Jarkan 10.5's.
My partner and I have just purchased La Vida, a Jarkan 10.5 from 1982.
With Covid travel restrictions we haven't actually seen her in the flesh as yet, however we will get to meet her personally in early November.
The surveyor's report was really good, obviously a bit of work to do, but overall we were happy enough to purchase sight unseen.
She will eventually live on the Camden Haven river at Dunbogan, but will remain in Pittwater for a little longer yet.
Needless to say, we cant wait to get down there and see her.
If anyone has any information about her (history, build number etc.) we would love to hear from you. Her sail number is 5542.
Thanks in advance and Cheers
Peter and Michelle.
Hi Ramona,
Thanks for your response. I have purchased the yacht from John however it is my understanding that he has (only) owned her for approx 20 years. There must be some history that someone knows of for the period 1982 - 2002.
Cheers
Glory, what are you going to do with the 1982-2002 history. "John only owned the yacht for 20 years..............."
Of course he would have passed on all relevant information to you.........
mmm, thanks r13 for your insightful input.
I'm still interested in any info about La Vida anyone may have pre John's ownership (which commenced in 2002).![]()
Thanks in advance
quick question. does the jarkan hull have any timber in in it? i was reading about the raymarine transducers (depth and speed) which you just glass into the bottom and they work through the hull (no holes required) but they apparently don't work if there is anything other than fibreglass.
thanks

The Jarkan 35 is just a solid laminate.
Hi all.
Need to reprop after a repower with Beta30. Have a very original Jarkan 10.5. Is anyone who has done this familiar with shaft dimensions? I have measured shaft at 1" and as it is a 1980 build believe it is imperial. Can anyone confirm and know the shaft taper and nut size and thread ?
Thanks
Hi All, We are proud owners number three of Bolero, Jarkan 10.5. 1984. The previous owners had her for 34 years and were amazing. She is like new. We have modernised her a little, put new solar panels, lithium batteries, auto pilot, electronics and unfortunately had to replace original fridge (the old one was legendary). We have a boom tent when anchored but looking into options for shade / shelter whilst sailing that extends beyond Boleros excellent solid dog house. The space in the centre cockpit is small but the limits to our creativity lay in the main sheet, traveler position and height of the boom. We have been googling images but haven't seen any solutions online. She currently has no davits but might look into them if they could compliment a shadey solution and provide an increased opportunity for more solar panels.
Any ideas shared would be greatly appreciated. cheers
On a Jarkan 10.5 does anyone have an emergency tiller and if so would they have the dimensions? I need to get one fabricated.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Iain

Jarkan 10.5 with Bimini

Hello
can anyone comment on Jarkan 10.5 chainplates, in particular are they accessible for inspection, given the age of these boats should they be replaced and has anyone replaced them?
