its really cool! not versatile though. you can only grill - which you can do on a weber. its awesome that its cold to the touch.

Thanks Steve! I really appreciate your effort.
I'll give it a go next week if the storm does not blow everything away.

how is the weather up river? more sheltered right now i hope!

its amazing how little coals you need, how quick they get going too.I will probably get quite a few more cooks out of those coals in the bbq atm before i need to add more into there. I tend to lean more towards using less coals than more. Its too easy to make these things too hot, then you gotta really be onto not burning food. I really dont like to waste anything, so i would rarely throw coals away. in fact i cant recall doing it from the boat. from memory i would just wet the coals to stop the bbq quickly. id then hang the bbq back up on the rear rail in cockpit. those coals would be dry by the next time.
These bbqs are 120. they really are good. easy to carry around, throw in the dinghy, take it ashore, cook on the beach etc.
a brazilian friend of mine had a cheap coal bbq. it worked, but not so well. he always used beads too. I cant stand beads. they stink, heavy, hard to light. i think theyre toxic.

I think they are a great addition to a boat like mine. i could understand why someone wouldnt wanna put one on the nice white bene though!
