I was wondering what if any interest in a Sydney catch up for seabreeezers?
I was thinking of Sydney harbour say early February.
Say Saturday the 11th February in Sugarloaf Bay?
Love to, but I don't know whether Missus and I are capable of an ocean passage from
Broken Bay to Sydney Harbour.
I would say check the weather closer Sam plus maybe treck or EC31 might come down and you could travel with them .
The Admiral will be overseas that weekend, but I have booked in some non sailing friends for a cruise to Americas on the Saturday. With our racing calendar (keel and dinghy's), our weekends are booked well in advance.
I will talk to my friends and see if we can move the date. The weather will be a deciding factor as well, but happy to do a convoy if that suits. Will let you know by the end of January.
BTW, it was just perfect sailing yesterday on Botany Bay (Towra). 16 knot NE, slack tide, sunshine, doesn't get much better.
Yep. I sail out of GRSC on Sundays when I can fit it into the schedule. Great fleet yesterday. It was a lead up event to the Nationals at Port Stephens this Christmas.
I have booked some holidays around this time
I am planning a trip sailing down to Sydney, I have a few requests to honor (ie: sails on Sydney Harbor)
Is there any big races on near the planned anchor-up dates down in them there parts?
I could kill three birds with one stone as it were.
That's if you'd except a Qlder down there. We do talk kinda slow and we do communicate better with pictures..in crayon.

Sam, if I come down I'll stop by and pick you up mate.
How you get home is another matter!
I am not up on the big race calendar, but others here may know of events around that time.
There is always club racing on the Harbour and most clubs welcome visitors. Just a matter of picking your day, location and spinnaker or non spinnaker. Probably more a case of where you are going to be based, either near the bridge or up at middle harbour.
Then there is Pittwater as well, who have racing every day of the week.
You would have seen us we came through about 2
Can't say I did. Probably we were just starting the second race and I went down the shore line to the channel marker down there.
One designs tend to mean you are only watching the guy in front and behind. And the stink boats who have no idea of what we are doing or where we are going!
Cyc run a good one on boxing day.
Navigators cup is the weekend before Australia day plus Australia day regatta.
Sail Port Stephens is in April .
I don't race so others may know of other things.

Aw thanks Shags, you are all heart. When it gets closer to the date I'll have to check
my social calendar to see if I'm free.
Sounds great... Count me in. I'm close to Sydney now (just completing the Airlie Beach to Syd passage), so will be very keen to put feet up and socialise then!
I'm in Broken Bay now, aus005. Nearly home...! The old Jarkan was amazing - no problems or breakdowns at all. Very easy to sail solo. I did 1,175 nm, with 235 hours at the helm.
Sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately I will be overseas but hubby might feel courageous enough to venture on his own (with kids in tow)
Just thought I'd bump this up keeping it in mind.
Hey, just another bump as the proposed date is closer.
We are definitely going to be there planning on the 1430 bridge opening.
We will probably also stay on the harbour Sunday night as well but probably Athol bay Sunday night. Head back to botany bay Monday.

when exactly?
Still thinking of 11th in sugarloaf bay? i just realised thats up middle harbour.
why up there? bridge, sharks and you can also hear roads, waringah and wakehurst parkway and people walking in the bush. i slept up there one night. noisy as all night . seems like youre right outta the way up there but its kinda near highways and you can hear em plus people walk the bush there 24/7.
Yes still the 11th well that is when we will be there .
It was just a place I through up.
Good anchorage in any wind is the main reason plus several free moorings. Also you don't have the swell or rivieras putting out their wash.
We regularly stay there or Bantry bay and never have troubles with noise.
Granted not good for swimming.
Happy for you to organize something else.
