I love my clansman, great boat! I got mine for low mid twenties. Slow sales market and the cost/availiability of moorings and berths to blame no doubt.
My new Clansman - Maggie IV will be trucked to my place the week after Easter, 800km trip.
I hope to have her in the water for under $17,000 including truck and crane costs, plus hull revamp. We'll see how that pans out!
Can't wait to give her a good going over, by which time my mooring application should be near the top of the list in 4-6 months.
Due to my poverty stricken status, I did offer a ridiculously low price which was accepted.
She comes with a Kubota 18HP with 21 hrs + shaft and prop
Brand new:
mast (larger section than original) + boom
Main and furling genoa
Furler
Standing and running rigging
Mast head wind instruments + "chook", lights and VHF antenna
Billyboy02, yours looks very nice and I hope you find the right buyer soon

We should start a clansman group website. Talk clansman things and stuff.

Just be careful you don't attract the attention of men wearing white robes and pointy hats.

Isn't that what everyone else wears?
Good advice Cisco, Thankyou, and I have a good one. Aren't most yachts undervalued in todays market? I have seen really good clannies well setup for $45k.
Happy sailing Cisco![]()
By the way, what's wrong with a kilt on a clansman. I also have a Scottish background with my own tartan. Come to think of it, maybe that's why I was attracted to the Clansman and the sow & thistle or whatever it is in the first place!!.
There is a current clansman association and if interested I could PM their details and contact. I haven't really used them for information but they are a nice bunch of guys who race occasionally and get together a couple of times a year. There is even a Clansman tie that an old sailor handed down to me after seeing me at my local wharf a few times. Lots of sailors have great clanny stories to tell.
Great boat, great bunch.

Congratulations mate!!! You have brained it getting her for that money. I rang the guy a month or so ago and as I understood him just about everything on or with the yacht was virtually brand new. Well done.
Is Terry Burns doing the move for you??
PS:- I love the thistle shield on the stems of the Clansmen.

Thanks, I'm pleased with the deal.
Aaron Doyle from Queensland Boat Transport is doing it. He is very helpful on the phone and also quoted a good price @ $1,800. The cranes are quoted @ $800 and $600 - both ends. I'm still not sure how much I'll spend on the hull until it gets here, and I start scraping it back. I've budgeted up to $2,000 for the hull, but may get away with less.
I built a cradle from a pile of hardwood I had lying around so just needed to buy some coach bolts and screws.
One fly in the ointment was a speeding ticket for $366 on the way home. Wearing earplugs on a Honda ST1100 feels like you're idling when doing 140Kph. Lesson learned!
