I hope you get it sorted Filippos.... the info I gave you came from Glen, one of the brothers that own the business. You
would have to hope he knows what he's talking about.

having dealt with them quite a few times, i have to say that the Buhk/Beta Marine mob down in Taren Point can be haphazard at times. nice people but in my experience the care factor and attention to detail is sometimes less than stellar...
I know we have all been discussing oil but I don't suppose it has a rubber bushed prop that is slipping
Regards Don
I have another flavour of Bukh sail drive from the DV10LSME motor and had the wrong oil in it for a while, it slipped. I replaced with correct oil and no issue now.
So if (and a big if) there is more than one flavour of Bukh 10 saildrive, it could be very material to understanding both Taren Point and Ramona's advice. Reckon Fillipos should look into the possibility of multiple "flavours" before going further.
So.. finally i bought the second hand saildrive and i will try to repair the other one once out of the boat.
The guy that sold me the saildrive said to use only mineral oil SAE 30. So i will go with that, as it is the same as in the workshop manual.
I also called the Bukh distributor here and they didn't give me a clear answer. The guy said 1 out of 3 saildrives you will see uses different oil. ![]()
