Actually, l can and do recommend Naked Wines!

I am with them for over a year now. It is a reliable company helping winemakers.

Recommended!

I am thinking you missed the point, the helping winemakers is fine and dandy, it's the marketing that isn't.

When a web site is called "Catch" you got to admit they are trying to tell you something!

Struck again, I like supporting small businesses, especially when it's close to home and I can pickup.... however after multiple late late deliveries, poor communication, false promises... I've given up on this store.

Last item is over a month since ordering, 2 promises of ETA gone... one other item I waited over 2.5months.
Not sure if their on stop credit with suppliers or just can't function as a business...
Just saying next time I'll pay $10 more, drive down the road and pick it up, or wait 2 days for the part.

Sorry Arnold, disappointing and when this item finally arrives, it will be my last.

If your not in a hurry, and order multiple items to make up for the $$ freight cost... maybe others might find them useful, but I'm done. Rant over

You are not alone with your concerns regarding this business ...

No issues to date , made several individual purchases , and items sent to different marinas while cruising up and down the coast .

funny this thread popped up again, I just unsubscribed from Arnolds emails this morning.
I think after the last experience I was lucky, not game to try again.

Id go back to the local BS if they gave semi reasonable service.
Anyone want to chip in a few $0000,0000's and set up a decent store?

Actually Rumble is in the game, maybe a Seabreeze ongoing promocode?

I've just sent an email asking them to call me to discuss the issues people have had with them. This is the condition I've placed on them if they want any business from me.
Will let you know how I go.

If they are drop shipping most of their products it is no wonder there is an Issue. There are huge lead-in times at the moment with restricted inports. Nearly every shop in every niche has limited stock at the moment.

It is Arnolds communication that seems to be lacking the most.

I think thats it Toph, drop ship.
There are a few players online, I will the local chandler, Bias, WW or any other before trying Arnies again.
I have use Mauri pro a few times, for hatches, winches, etc. if thereis a decent order needed.

Keep an eye out for their end of seasons sales, which line up with our starting season, even with freight it can be worthwhile

And they all play the same game to differing degree ie WW and maybe bias or whatever they call themselves now have a reasonable amount of stock on hand, but if they don't have the exact product in stock or on hand they are happy to send a cheap copy of the quality item you ordered and might I add paid for in advance for example when doing an electric toilet conversation I specified trudesign fittings and got an assortment of bits from both ends of the quality spectrum, with no consultation, sir we don't have that quality brand in stock would you consider product "b" at a reduced rate. And more times than not the item purchased is absolute junk, how about those fenders that turn to goo and melt all over you topsides! Rant over !

Wavesong, Have a talk to Jock at Boat Harbour Marine at Scarborough Marina. He can get anything you want and match or even better any other price you may get. Plus he is extremely knowledgeable and will give you good advice.

I only have limited experience with Boat Harbour Marine, but from what I have experienced I have nothing but praise for them. You also have one of the better mechanics in your area that I've ever dealt with too. He came back 3 days after having a heart attack to finish the job. You don't see that kind of work ethic much anymore.

Hi guys. I'm having massive problems with Arnold's boat shop. Does anyone know what's happening there with them? I put an order in for just over $11k to replace all my boats electronics. Order came through slowly in two parts which was fine. I then asked if I could return a few small items which I didn't need (Raymarine backbone cables, tee pieces and a few fittings etc) and they said they would give me store credit. They acknowledged receipt over a month ago and I have been chasing them up emailing them, tried to call (they don't take calls now) so far I've had emails back from Mark, Lizette and Charlotte saying that it's with management awaiting processing. This has been going on for over a month now. I've sent at least 20 emails that mostly get ignored. This is not the way I expect to be treated when I've spent $11k with them and was wanting to spend another $2k on other items I need for the refit. So frustrated right now. It's only a few hundred dollars they owe me for the refund but I just don't like the way they treat their customers. Anyone know how I can call them or what my next step is?
Cheers

Your problem might be Raymarine, as their customer support is legendary and not in a good way.

I'm in the same boat. Used them once with success, so ordered a $700 helm pump on 4th May. I received an email on 24th June saying it wouldn't be available until 24th Sept. I've been asking for an update and have had no response, I've sent 4 emails so far. I'm going to have to assume I've lost my money on this one.
I definitely won't be using them again.

I got an email a few weeks ago (despite being unsubscribed) announcing a revamped new website, which might kind of suggest a going concern?
Harr all might not be lost yet, that sinking feeling in your guts just goes hand in hand with the sales cycle I fear.
I'd be really reluctant to spend $11k with them though.

I wish anyone the best of luck trading online especially currently, but I definitely will be sticking to others (including overseas unfortunately) before I use these guys again.

I'm sorry to see that Arnold's haven't lifted their game in the time since I first created this post. While their pricing is always aggressive and therefore attractive, I guess that their resulting margins are so small that they can't afford to properly staff the business. As I see it, their primary failings are two-fold.

1. No "in stock" or "out of stock" notices besides products
2. Really poor communications

I note that on the ACCC site regarding the use of online stores, they advise against shopping on sites that don't advertise their physical address and telephone number. Arnold's display neither.

Boges, see this link for advice on what to do: www.accc.gov.au/consumers/complaints-problems/make-a-consumer-complaint. Good luck.

Just an update re my purchase.

I sent them an email stating that I needed my purchase by a certain date - it was Pellarclean to do my prop when hauled out this Friday.

They replied stating they didn't have a supply date so I cancelled my order asking for a full refund. I sourced some Prop Speed elsewhere that turned up yesterday & received a full refund from Arnolds.

A good result!! I thought they might just give me store credit & I'd have to find something else to buy!!

That'd be a good one, a store credit on something you were never going to get delivered.

I was going to order a few grand worth of electronics and tried contacting Arnolds via email to ask a couple of questions and what the delivery timeframe wold be. I tried contacting them 3 times and even found a phone number to call, which went straight to message bank. I gave up waiting for a response after about 2 weeks and called up Outback Marine. They matched the price and I received everything in less than a week.
About 3 moths later I got a response from Arnolds asking if I was still interested in the products.... nah.
A lot of these online stores drop ship and that in itself is not an issue, the communication part at Arnolds is a massive issue - or non existent.

Anyone else still having ongoing issues with Arnolds Boat Shop? Ordered a VHF 26 Jan amongst other items and was told the order was delayed due to the VHF which would be in stock Feb 17th. 17th long past now and order still shown as unfulfilled so I called Icom who advised item is in stock with them so clearly we are just being fed BS. I've also sent a few queries on the website / reply email and none have been answered.

I used them a few times in the past when he was at lane cove but would have to agree with other posters to avoid them.

While their delivery schedules are a bit screwed at the moment, for me they have been responsive and helpful when contacted.
My last three orders were stalled on one of the parts in each order
As soon as I contacted them they offered to split the delivers with no extra charge, which I did with 2, the 3rd was still due before I needed it
The orders ranged from $100 to $350.
My last order turned up missing an item, I contacted them and they express couriered the part.

We unfortunately ordered about $200 of fender covers from Arnolds Boat Shop on the 26/1. Their website said the items were in stock and delivery would be in 10 days. On the 8/2 when nothing had arrived we chased them up and were then advised it would now be delivered on the 18/2. On the 25/2 when nothing had arrived we chased them again and delivery is now the 4/3.

During the same period we ordered a number of other items from NZ and other east coast suppliers. All these items arrived within 7-10 days, as advised by the suppliers. A real contrast to Arnolds Boat Shop.

If the items do not arrive on the 4/3 we will be cancelling the order.
