Can't understand why you would want to kite into a small area that poleys are using when you got the whole coastline to use on downwinders, just go onto the next section and get over it, why put yourself in a situation where something might go wrong

As usual the guys that can't see how this just makes it difficult for everyone are the same guys that jump 10m from the beach, the ones that don't look before jumping. The ones that perform tricks inside the yellow markers on the river

I think you get the idea

The usual small number making dicks of themselves

Mate, on the East Coast of Australia we share the Ocean with all water users, I guess this is too much to ask for you agro WA types....Windsurfer only spots? Whatever next.....

If you knew the spot, you would understand. Its a MASSIVE stretch of coastline that is predominantly used by us kiters doing downwinders. And a tiny section is used by the poleys. He's not asking for much.

Without knowing the spot, one really shouldn't comment.

Yeah and one shouldn't think anything will come of posting on a public forum that a minority of ocean users read.

If you have an issue with someone, sort it out there & then I know it's old school but that's the way issues get resolved. Jumping on a public forum hours or days after the event in the hope that the offender reads the post and realises it's them that you are referring to is.....................F'N POINTLESS.

And I bet all the east coasters will still pop in here to see how this post is traveling lol

Don't really get the angst with posts being started in the "wrong" spot. Must be those types who'll have a whinge at the first chance / be spying on the neighbors through the curtains types.. Isn't it easy enough to simply NOT read it and move down a thread?

Out of interest:

How do all the newbies find out such 'local info'?

^ Pretty sure it's all on the waksa website. Otherwise ask around on the beach. Pretty easy.

Lost boards, downed kites, learners and teuros are just part of Windsurfing at Woodies.

After 10 years I'm used to it,
These days I only get upset when I can't get a parking spot

BTW: A kiter has boosted over me, and I smiled and waved (it was someone I know though)

Perth beaches are becoming crowded and thats all there is to it .The downwinders are not going to stop and even the best riders still make mistakes. All I can suggest is to head to the far northern or southern beachs if you want space and that goes for all water sports too.If been kiting at Two rocks and there was know one there.Heaps of space for the adventurous!

This is how I like to see poleys but I must agree with the original post. There is about 5km of coast for downwinders and a few spots where both windsurfers and kiters stay in the same spot which maybe adds up to about 500m. If you are doing a downwinder it would be polite to just go around these spots (unless you have the skills to rip it up!).
