Big ones are available now. They were released to the dealer order system in 2 stages 5-10M first, then 11-19. Dealers should be getting stocks (if they ordered) soon.

When do the larger sizes come out.?
I sold my 2010 13m edge in anticipation of picking up the new one
Now I'm currently edgeless

Go the11 Doc, im around 84 kgs and the next kite size up from the 11edge I use is a 17, the 11 has the best bottom end around, tts I use with the 11 are Axis 132 at home and Axis 147 in bali, it blows minds with its bottom end both home and bali, I rarely use my 17. Robbie Puetz has seen the 11 in action in light winds.

Iv been riding a 10m in elliot heads for the demo weekend past 3 days. wow. lands super soft dude. Im no boost king either but wow i was getting up there. also a light wind machine. flat water riding in 7- 10kts. with 3m ext. obviously not boosting in that but the kite generates alot of energy. It won the weekend for everyone. It was the only kite out numerous times.

Yep, it was a standout for sure. Whoever had the edge on the demo day seemed to be having the most fun on flat water. Haven't flown other edges to compare, but the 10m made a 12-14Kn session feel like 16-18Kn for upwind angle, speed and boosting. Would have LOVED to demo in 20Kn+ to see what it could really do.

Looking at Eddie lansdsik
he was pulling huge airs in big winds in holland, woo reading of 19 mtrs on the v8, Seb cattelan, chris bull, Matt taggart have been hitting 24/25 mtrs on the woo, looks like the new models go bigger, it'll be interesting watching Ryan Coote or Eddie on a v9 in big hometown conditions as a reference

You can definitely go bigger on the V9, because it actually turns really well now for a high AR fast flying kite. The Edges fly fast, faster than any other inflatable kite I've used, so now that you can pull in and send it, you get ripped off the water and go UP, and now you can easily loop/downloop to assist with control and soften landings.
Happy to run my 10M demo up to Surf FX, or Briskites this week for anyone that wants to try it, just PM me.

Hay Steve,
I have been riding (personal preference) what I feel is the sweet spot on the 11 mtr Edge for many years. I use this kite for the open/high aspect shape.
For me, it's been both my light wind kite and a jumping machine.
The little amount of wind I can get out in is amazing and then all the way on the other end of the wind I refer to as "lit as F*ck and having a ball".
the Edge has been my bread and butter kite for learning tricks.
I can easily take back to my hybrid C kites.
The Edges ability to also (beyond the amazing wind range and high boosting) do low jumps that hover across the water for yonks. This increased hang time on many occasions has let me learn the parts of tricks that would frustrate me when trying on my hybrid C kites. it's like hanging in a sling or a swing it just keeps on floating, so good:).

The Edge for me is the Chillin Villain.
When I want to I can go out and forget the future and the past and just be.
It is smooth on the Edge, it allows me to free myself and my heart is at peace.
However, when you want to unleash I have often found myself drag racing the windsurfers. The pole dancers love it when I pass them by on their speed runs on my twin tip. I can tell by the salute they give me with the middle finger.
the wows and cheers I have heard from the shore when I boost the Edge and send it large inspire me to kite and give a feeling of satisfaction.
The Edge has been a great and fun blast but "These times they are a changin" it has for my purpose been slow in the turns and loops. It would fold on me in the center until I slowed down my turns and increased the turning area. I feel without riding the v9 yet or even seeing it in the air it's going to be more fun. It's going to be faster because I can put heaps more energy into the turns and drive myself deeper into the water to create more direct uplift in jumps.
I'm frothing to see the changes and can't wait to fly the v9.
Such a blessing race boarding has died to allow the edge to evolve into its current form, though I will dearly miss paying out on the race boarders....

2 questions please if I may

1. Would you maybe consider getting behind the idea and asking the guys at ozone if they could make an accessory for the bar for me? So I can attach it for old school tricks.
I really need it for my joke tricks "the teapot" the "Sugarbowl" and the "pornstar" not to mention all the old school tricks like the dead man and board offs, I just can't currently do on the Edge but really want to.

2. I figure it's the same but just want to ask you. Have you heard any info or felt it when riding the v9, is the 11 mtr still the sweet spot of the quiver.

I reckon the Edge is the kite that got Ozone noticed in the first place back when it was Instinct/Light/Sport/Edge. From that time onwards the Edge has had a strong and loyal following. When Ozone started to focus on producing fast race kites, the Edge was the natural model to work with, but many of us wondered how the old school loyalists would react to a kite that increasingly came with a wider arcing turn? Being a race kite it naturally had excellent upwind and thats where the amazing boosting and hang time comes from.
The biggest jumps I've ever done were on the Edge V6'ish, 9M 30+ knots, flat water at Alva, jumped well over my old mates kite who was coming towards me with kite at around 10.30, the look of him looking up at me is etched in my memory forever I reckon.

From what I've seen and experienced now, the V9 is everything you've always wanted + more. I cannot say for certain that in the hands of very experienced riders who can take kites to their limit (and their own personal limits too!), that the tips won't do that wobbly thing some sizes in the V7 and 8 did. But having seen some very experienced Ozone madmen including Matt T in Vietnam putting the final proto's through their paces, that is a thing of the past. The V9 is still a very fast, higher AR speed machine, but it now turns much tighter and so you can easily boost it higher and also loop it to soften the landings and for gut wrenching excitement.

I'll PM you about that other "thing".

I've left my 10M demo at Surf FX for a week or so.

Is there anyone out there that has ridden a v9 powered up that can provide commentary that is not associated with selling ozone?

Looking to possibly purchase but want to hear from the average punter first... and I couldn't care less about how it performs in light wind as that's not what I'm intending to use it for.

What's happened mate.
5 months must be serious?
Hope you have a speedy recovery to demo this new edge.
From all reports sounds like it's a weapon.

High grade tear of the adductor Longus with some conjoin ligament tear.

One too many board offs in 25-30 knots on a 10m I'm afraid. Sucks getting older.

This guy is the most unsalesman like retailer I've met. If he says its great, it probably is. I haven't bought anything off him for a few years (mining downturn) but have in the past and will in the future. Best service I've experienced in Perth for kite gear.

Also, I was out that same day same spot (17-47 according to graph) and he was flying high and throwing it around in ways I don't think you would have with past edges (ive had a 9 and 11 in years gone by)

If everytime someone who has a vested interest in the industry posts on here they get shot down, we all loose the chance to hear their thoughts, just scroll past if it ruins your day...

For what its worth, I never fell in love with the edge like I though I would. They were too slow turning for me, I probably didn't give them enough time. Maybe this latest version is worth another go....

Westozkiteboarding, Briskites, Kitethrills, Fun Supply and Kitepower all have demo's now or arriving this week. This is by far the best Edge Ozone have made, grab a demo asap!
All demo kites have shipped with Ozone's new flying lines, made from a recently developed SK99 Dyneema, and using the latest breakthrough in braiding tech, resulting in thinner yet stronger lines. More info on lines coming.

Sorry I apologise.

This was a great detailed review by Honest Steve.

Im 70kg and on a biger normal twintip, i was kiting that weekwnd in under 10kts. NO, I was not holding ground but i was kiting. at a solid 10-12kts I was motoring upwind. When it comes to light wind though, Im pretty decent at going as Im from a place with very light wind. lol. VR bones would have been out after the wind was definitely at the 12 and up mark and he was cruising just fine. Im ot sure which guy he was though, but they were all alot bigger guys then me. I did find the kite super hard to keep in the air at the low winds buy thats to be expected right. And relaunching it was not easy for me though I am not used to high aspect kites. For my size and what I wouod use the v9 for (boosting) I think a 10m would be perfect in my quiver but for someone else perhaps a touch bigger.
