Yer that was his biggest kite at the time.
Went out today with a damaged shoulder and arm from a wakeboard crash yesterday. But went to the goldcoast turf club so I left the beach at 10:30 was fun but my shoulder is stuffed at the moment.

Where did you end up?

Hey Troy,
Sorry bout your shoulder, hope you're on the mend. Dangerous sport that wake-boarding!

I hit south golden again but, I'm not so good launching in the waves and spent the whole sesh pouring water out of the kite and relaunching.
I scored a Slingshot SX 132 couple of days ago in the classifieds and it gets up easier than the 144 Choppie! Its a tad lighter and is made of foam. I had them out in the same sesh in flat water and light wind yesterday and defo the SX gets up easier.
So I'm thinking of trading it the choppie on a Cab Switchie. Guy has a few in there and a 2011 for 1k and a bit of runout stock to come and tradins for the end of season sale so hopefully..
I was thinking an 11 m SB.
Winds are often so light here so often (9-12 kts) and i'm frothing all the time so i'm really keen to get anything to jump up on.
theres a 2006+ 13 m fuel - apparently no depower = bad choice, but i'm desperate.....
and an Octane 15m - Not sure what year. ..
Any thoughts here m8
I'll look out for the GC Turf club. I'll be coming through the goldie this Sunday or Monday. I'll give you a shout on the way.

Cheers n8 get well.

I'm finding old bigger kites to be pretty useless for light winds, they are really just a heavy persons kite for +15knts. I have a 2003 fone m3 16m and a 2004 slingshot fuel 15m.
The problem I'm finding is that when you work the kite they lose alot of power through turning.

So either go bigger, like 21m foil or something newer that you can try out. Like a 17m ozone zephyr.
Saying that I can get going in just over 10knts on a home made board I copied from the naish alia using my 11m.

By the looks of it this arvo I'll be using my 15m.

Hey Troy,
10 kts on your homemade naish alia sounds like what i'm looking for.
it's so often that speed down here, like yesterday.
Have you got some fotos? I'd love to see it. You could probably surf it too?
I saw Guy and the fellas at Ferry st and picked up and old SS Doyle 157 mutant.
It's got 8 fins hahah but I'm hoping it will be a light wind machine.
I got the chopstick out in some waves Monday arvie and it was so smooth but I find it hard to get the edge in because of the 43cm width. I adjusted the pads closer to the edge last night and now just waiting for 18 kts....

A fella I met at Sth Gldn rides an Ocean Rodeo 150. It has massive concave (20mm?) and only a single fin at either end and he said it is wicked in surf or flat. Never got to see it as the wind went from 18 to 10 as soon as he arrived!

How's the breeze been where you are this week m8?
Cheers
