I've got no problems with freedom fighters, they fight against the government it's corruption and evils,the apartheid was run by racists in the government not its citizens, not me my family or any of our friends went around shooting blacks, the apartheid even made laws that restricted what whites could do or say.
Again a freedom fighter will attack the government and it's military, a terrorist (coward) will go around blowing up men women and children indescrimenately until they get what they want. If you can justify murder with murder then maybe you should go speak with a psychologist. P.s. Since the end of the apartheid there have been 10's of thousands of whites killed too, nearly 25yrs on and there still trying to pass S.A. Off as a rainbow nation tolerant of all, even a few of our Indian friends had to leave S.A. Because it's soooo great.
And if anyone else is interested in Mandela don't listen to the media which is strictly controlled by governments, use the web to find the true stories and YouTube vids about both sides.

The media is generally pitched at idiots, not always, but mostly, to keep things simple (black and white...pardon the pun)m and to drive a consensus to ultimately keep us in fear and to spend!!!!

I lived there the first half of my life, it was a hole then and I still think its a hole now apart from a very few tourist locations, I'd never go back but if people wanna go then go. For the same amount of money I'd rather go to a resort in Nabq Egypt and kite the Red Sea for its beautiful clear flat waters.

Places like Langebaan you don't need a wetsuit, here at the beach a "normal wetsuit" is fine it's not that cold, plenty of kite houses right on the beach for crazy cheap, beer is like R10-15, food/drink is crazy cheap here compared to Europe, accomodation as well.

But what is a "summer wetsuit" in CT for visitors?
Here in Oz its a 2mm springy, but generally we dont need any wetty in summer.
I was in CT a few years back the summer water temp was ~10oC and I only had my trusty 3/2 steamer. It was a very good wetty and for surfing it just did my body ok, but within an hour I couldnt feel my hands or feet.. Getting out of the wetty after the sesh was a mission when your hands are numb haha
At Jbay earlier in the year around Sept/Oct, the CT boys would be surfing in boardies whilst everyone else was in 3/2 steamers or on warmer days in 2mm short arm steamers! Funny as..
Having been to Capetown myself I can honestly say most Aussies would be freezing kiting in a 3/2 steamer and I was totally freezing surfing in a 4/3 steamer there... Lots if guys out in boots, hoods and gloves surfing whilst I was freezing my nuts off. It's the type if cold where you duck dive the first wave and think your head will explode. What I'm trying to say is deffinetly pack some warmth if you go or you will regret it.

I'd definatly recommend a 5:3 suit for Cape Town- water is bloody cold.
You can get away with a thinner shortie or rash vest n shorts in Klein Oesterwal (Langebaan), as its only knee deep. Langebaan main beach few km up the road is back to being cold.
Watch yer kites- read a cpl of reports of full rigs being stolen right off the beach!

- water so cold you can't stand in it without getting cramps in your feet
