Yes, I think he does a nip and tuck of canopy but you have to keep in mind how many joins are done as it affects the price which is fair enough especially if he has to unpick stitching.

You may be onto something!
I don't think the wing is as much as airfoil but more like a sail with some more angle of attack control. The lift will definitely help with getting going and staying upwind though.
