The dislike for tourists, shown by FEW south east Asians, is justified in my mind.
Australians are the most traveled people in the world, however as a majority, we are the worst at it.
We congregate in Australian oriented places, mainly bars, write ourselves off, are rude, treat locals like scum and make general fools of ourselves.
One of the most disgusting sights i have ever seen is the rotten Aussie bogans flopping around Kuta covered in southern cross tatoos and australian flags, chanting about how good Australia is. I even spotted at least 20 'I HEART FRANKSTON' stickers plastered around the place.
Well why travel then?
I hated working in London as the same infection seemed to spread to there too. Australians aren't looked at too highly there either. Everyone seemed to accentuate their accents, so walking into a walkabout, god forbid, would sound like 30 episodes of the crocodile hunter played over 30 loud speakers, with every ad break being filled with chants of 'I am, you are, we are OSTRAYIAN'.
Its odd how these same boguns are the ones with the 'F OFF WE'RE FULL' Stickers, complaining about how the Chinese congregate and populate certain areas in australia, while chanting 'ban the burqa'.
These Filipinos had next to nothing, now they have nothing, and they are in a country where they will be given nothing unless the more fortunate are willing to help.
Don't worry, Australia's pledge wont come out of your centrelink allowance.
My best kiting mate is in the Philippines ,right up north in Saud Beach Pudapud,he is OK,
but his girlfriend went back to Tacloban 14 days ago too visit her family for 2 weeks, she was with 10 family members in a small concrete building with a tin roof the last time he talked to her just as the wind was going mental ![]()
he has not heard from her since the typhoon hit ![]()
there is still no electricity or phone signal in Tacolban ![]()
Hope she and her family are OK ![]()
After having to wait 4 days my mate in the Philippines has heard from his girlfriend in Tacloban this morning ,she and her family are alive
but they have lost there house and their belongings ![]()
Wow.
This topic didn't turn out how hoped. ![]()
Well that'll learn you for posting it in a kiteboarding forum, such discussion is not allowed here. Better check with mattkennedy first next time, he knows the rules ![]()
End of conversation. This is a kiteboarding forum.
You've been told.
PS I'll chip in to a Seabreeze donation account, if you set one up. I can live without a carton of beer if it feeds a hungry family for a week
You know if you scroll up the page you can see what people have written previously but thanks for showing us how clever you are at using the quote button.
If you set that up I'll donate $50 on the proviso you dont post your political rubbish again here or on any forum

Great line of argument.

If you don't want to come out of this thread looking even worse you probably need to donate now.
By the way did you ever find out if nedflanders was really called nedflanders? ![]()
MattKennedy (and all of you who green thumbed him) your ignorance and lack of compassion amazes me. If a natural disatser happens in Oz, many are fortunate enough to have insurance and recieve support from a wealthy local community all the way up to a wealthy government. Unfortunatly, in the Philippines this is not the case - People are greatful just to recieve some rice and fresh water (kindly donated by the better off - YOU and I), not to mention the huge concern for disease outbreak.
I would love to know if you think it would be acceptable if brisbane's streets were lined with decaying bodies, while people queued for hours simply for the hope to get some fresh water or a handful of rice.
Unfortunately this is a personal subject for me as I have many relatives in the Philipines. Attached is an image I just recieved of a relatives village. Hopefully you can grasp that what you probably wouldn't even store your kite gear in (because its to unsavoury) is what many families live in (and thats prior to this tragedy).
Its about time many of you left the gold coast and travelled the world to realise just how lucky you are just for being born here.
I have never said anything about what your on about pal. My onky argument is I think its rubbish that straight away people jump in and say the government etc isnt doing enough when we have our own problems here too.
It is horrible whats happened but people need to look at things that way. As a tragedy not an opportunity to sling mud or any political views.
hook, line and sinker!
Can't believe you get off on this ****.
Yes.....yes I do ...especially after a dozen beers..... I deal with F-tards all day in retail, and this is my release of tension.....
If I released anywhere else , it would be an act of terrorism.
