Once again the interest in the Red Bull Lighthouse to leighton has been HUGE!

Overwhelming in fact with 226 entries received at the cut off date.

To give everyone an extra couple of opportunities to get in the race and to support an amazing WA Charity, Ngala, read on ...

Bid for TWO Spots in the 2015 Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton. How it works: anyone with a genuine Seabreeze login can bid, even if you MISSED the official entry close off and are not registered in the 2015 ballot process.

1/ Essentially it is a silent auction. You may enter multiple bids on an ongoing basis... Starting bid will be $165.00

2/ You use your Seabreeze login and enter the $ amount you are prepared to donate to Ngala's Good Night's Sleep charity program.

See here for more info: See: http://www.ngala.com.au/gns

3/ The highest TWO donations recorded on this thread at 6pm Wednesday 28th October will be contacted by the L2L Race Director, with the two named people given details of how to donate to the Ngala. This donation is tax deductible.

Example: Let's say someone is super keen to race and has some extra cash and wishes to bid $1000 as the highest bid in total, yes, they get a spot, but then the next highest bid is steadily rising and simply closes off at just $450, they too get the spot.

100% of the donation goes totally to Ngala.

5/ Two spots will be released for winning bids in to / entry in the race.

FYI: Ngala is a provider of Early Parenting and Early Childhood services with a passion for supporting and guiding families and young children through the journey of parenting.

Let's go for it kiters of Australia!

And, if you have young kids at home not sleeping, check out Ngala! It could be a life saver!

Open up that moth infested wallet of yours slave and offer 1000$ for the spot.

I know that this would put a ding in your pension but you could make it back when you win..

It's a no brainer

lol. ^^^

Hey Mr L2L,

By all means, have your race, and have some fun.

But what's with all this professional begging on the forum ?

What's the deal with with this scam of a silent auction ?

If Ngala is such a worthwhile charity, then Red Bull can give till it hurts.

Same goes for RPM.

Why should 2 riders have to pay way more to enter the race than the rest ?

It's discriminatory, it's unfair, it's elitist.

The entry fee is $165, it's stated in the official rules.

These so-called silent bids are just over-priced entry fees.

I say it's nonsense but personally I don't really care.

lol.

Why would I pay 165$ for a 18minute jolly up?

I can experience the same amount of carnage at Pinnaroo Point on any given day in summer and use that 165$ to buy myself 3 slabs of emu export, a sausage roll and a Big M and still have enough for bus fare back to Balga.

I agree Slave, how unfair to to ask two entrants to participate under different entry conditions than all the rest. With the exception of the invitees all the other entrants gained a start by ballot, why not apply that condition for the places that become available from non starters ???? Very disappointed with L2L

Why? It's clearly mentioned on the top FUNDRAISING! 100% of the donation goes totally to Ngala.

Good point Macro... some entrants have to "fund raise" to be eligible to start the race. We aren"t all born equal

I'm devastated I came 3rd last year in the TT category and I don't get automatic entry :-o

Now these bids are far-king pricey..... $600 for a race that took me 28 minutes last year is over $1 per 20 seconds ... but I do love the red bull trophy!!

My maths was shocking.... over $20 a minute is what I meant.... It would be great if 3-5 places were offered for top TT racers :-0

Just gonna put it out there ....

What about a bodydrag only category - eg no board at all....

That would be a tough race.... I would shake the hand of the winner of that one..
