The Smook boards look the goods. I might bight the bullet and order one this year for bigger surf and one I can paddle as well. Those boards look like they would do the job really well.
Had a bamboo version of the tyrant in 2014. Strong yes but a harsh ride compared to a the Caution Trespass or a good Custom. I rather take a board that dents and have to replace every 2 seasons than ride something like the SS surfboards.
Going to shoot Delta a message to see what ideas he has to reinforce the deck or alternatively give the new Firewire a try.
Thanks for the input all!
We have made Bagged bamboo laminated Epoxy board in 2012 to 2014 which were only 1.9klg to 2.1 klg and still use occasionally But were good if bamboo had a backing to it like sand paper has But bamboo with no backing and the board creased? The other problem was Eps its **** with water penetration Delta have both of these item wired and use PU And are very strong Good board But a bit heavy for me and I do not kite Marg every day
^ Do team riders actually use production boards?
Team riders most definitely do.
One of our local guys. Matt 'Gear****er' Curran has been on them for the past year and normally goes through a couple of surfboards a year with some other brands. Hasn't snapped one yet..
I once owned a SS T-Rex,.. worst board ive ever rode,. Rock hard floated like a boat, just **** alround.
Like the comments above Im rather change a board ever few season and enjoy the feel.
I think it come from background though, those who never surfed before kiting probaby dont know the difference.

Spot on. Hard to compare if you do not know what you are missing out on. Anyway, horses for courses.
Fone signature in carbon has just been released though no reviews yet on the strength - the 2016 is an awesome board in the waves and this years carbon version should be stronger and lighter - They're expensive though!
