And now your popping airs as well, good onya
Keep it up mate, you'll get there

This is a bump post, cause a topic/thread this good, is way too cool to let slip on to page 2 and disappear

First 2 pics are especially cool, even though they are a bit oof. I was out last gasping with my son last night too, but he was on his own kite and board (Chronoing), and I was on the zephyr and surfboard, kited till dark, with an amazing sunset here in Sydney to boot. This is an old photo my son is only 8 but is now 30, pre digital days, scanned it a couple of years ago to preserve it. Nothing like kiting with your family imo!

Just checked with his Mum, he is 29 so that photos is from about 20 years ago (she thinks he is 9 or even 10 in that photo), and I'm 58, still kiting every day I can!!

30-40 min daily yoga stretching, and sometimes during the day as needed. Daily 5 Wobenzyme with 400ml of water when I swing out of bed, then the yoga, then green smoothie and fruit and coconut yoghurt for breakky with fish oil caps, MSN and Glucosamine powder, tribulus, vit c, and rarely more than a couple of beers with dinner, off season I'll be cycling if I can't kite at least a couple of times a week. I think the saying goes if you don't use it you'll lose it, or something like that?

Hey eeze,

I have taken my boy out just about every kiteable day for 2 years without incident, he spent 4 days in Pincess Margaret Hospital last month with a fracturured skull after a fall off a trampolene, all ok now and back in the water where we belong.

Maybe he should be playing on his iPad eating the diabetic prone diet we dish up to our kids...might save him from a kiting accident...

Why I say this, had a year 7 relief (double period physical education - I normally teach upper school only so I am not exposed to this year much ) and people we have a HUGE problem.

The number of over weight boys was shocking.

They did a role play about conflict resolution in another class (another teacher was telling me this) and the role plays they invented all centred around conflicts on social media, gaming...you name.

One kid couldn't play sport that day becuase apparently he has depression!! @ 12 for Christ sake!

You left hippy wing soft cock litigious wankers...leave our fkcn kids alone!!! You are Killing them, literally.

Eppo,

After seeing you and the kids on this thread , my wife is so keen to try kiting with me on a two up board , took me 3 years getting her on to a Sup and been trying to convince her to try the kiting with no luck, has had me trying to find a two up twinny and harness to suit, every chance she gets.

My sons have been kiting for some years now and hopefully i will still be kiting with the grandkids in a few years time

As you know eppo the older we get the more vitamins we need , at 57 still kiting every chance i get and surfing /supping all the other times to try and keep the fitness up , you got many years ahead mate, only thing is the kids get way better than you ,thats hard to take sometimes when they are kiting rings around you .

What a great thread , love it here in qld but miss those wa winds , have fun in thoses winter fronts.

Hmmmmm, "Social media" what's that Il Capitano? Is that where you ask your mate if he's finished reading his newspaper so you can have a flick through it?

and i'm wearing a hat that makes me look like the water boy

only excuse i have...was swapping the same kite with my brother from 730am to 230pm. So in and out of the water, 15 min or so on/off, without an extended break until the kids rocked up for an hour or so, even then in the water.

...but yeh I was kind over heating on land for sure!

I don't get what the problem with someone wearing a wetsuit is???

...and I'm bald and always wear a hat, but geez I hope I don't look as silly as that

very cool.
eppo is that a switch bar? if so how is it, and how similar to the north(looks the same to me)

Yeh it is.

Yeh very similar to the iron heart (same mechanistic principle) but the swivel easier to use. Cleat same thing, adjustable throw. Little bulky. The north one smaller and more refined. The depower toggle is cool can attach to depower line, but fully powered up it is sits high up on the cleat and is a bitch to get hold of. I just have a tad bit of depower going on to stop this. Not impossible but I'm generally at the limits of my kites for my weight so I need to have it there just in case.

Bar grip on the harsh side, very tacky and grippy which is good, but ultimately they gotta make it a little softer. However I have got used to it.

The above the bar swivel allows you to custom the bar to double or single flag, low or high Y and 4 or five lines. Need conversion kits though.

Change bar length and back lines under the float, easy and as it should be.

Stopper very good and adjustable for pressure to move.

A good unit so far.

I'm preferring the low Y on my 12m dice but I must say the 9m seems to like the high Y.

The low opens up the kite a bit, faster turning, more immediate feel through the loops, more float and hang...but you get less throw before you stall it...need attention when trimming and unhooking for sure....wheels and roundabouts as usual.
