Chopes is such a good setup for a twin-tip.
I dig your sarcastic elitest attitude, dude.
By the way, the TT rider is a local and apparently a good kiter.
Probably better than you.
lol.
Didn't you hear SB riding is far more advanced than TT riding, its part of the evolution of the sport.

Looking at almost all sponsored riders vids these days you either have to ride strapless and unhooked smashing endless down the line lips while magically never tacking back upwind. Or ride unhooked with boots and do low level multiple rotations while blowing your knees out at a young age.
Powered aggressive freeride doesn't exist all anymore. This must be what the kite companies think as they only ever show strapless lip smacking or knee busting wakestyle.
As I've said before I don't surf so I could be wrong on this but it looks like the surfer did absolutely everything he could to ride as high as he could to avoid the kite?
In big and busy conditions like this is there some sort of spotter system set up? Or are the guys getting towed in blind to what's happening down the other side?
I'm also thinking if he's wave riding in a big swell he has already accepted that if he drops his kite it's probably going to get mashed, if it was me I'd accept the surfer had no choice and I'd rather see him slap into the kite than get necked by tight lines.
Well I have never been on a wave that size, but I've surfed 10-12 foot a couple of times at margs and until you have you may not understand how fast he is actually travelling. Even at the end if he had fell off at a strange angle trying to avoid the kite he would have been in a world of pain.
Blah blah blah............ I'd rather see him slap into the kite than get necked by tight lines.
Hey leave me out of this. ![]()

For what it's worth I don't think crowded Chopes at that size is any place for a kite.
