...Yeah, on watch calculations is an artform. Particularly with Garmin as they have extreme battery saving measures which limit the calculations.
I noticed that Surfr drains watch battery heavier than KJ Pro. And session data transfer takes ages after Exit&Save.

I got new firmware v27.00 for my Fenix6, which amongst the other changes states "Added support for 100hz sensor rate for CIQ apps.". I wonder if that higher sampling rate will help for better jump estimation accuracy with KiteJump Pro?

:)
Maybe.....,... But in any case you will already see the effect.
:)
Had my first session since the update - I don't know if this is the new 100Hz sampling rate or change in the algorithm, but jump detection felt different. Previously it was detecting every little pop(1.0-1.5m) and was overestimating the height, while today only when going over 2.0m jumps were detected and jump height estimation was restrained and pretty spot on according to my inner gut :)

Glad you liked it. Jumps under 2 to 3 metres are disabled, as when I did my comparison testing with the other devices, I discovered they can be off by miles, and so were my calculations occasionally. Since removing them I've not had any reports of and large phantom jumps also.
Version 5.4 released today.
Bugfix - Had a mysterious bug that caused very infrequent crashes that I suspect I have fixed.
Increased watch compatability,
Significant decrease in memory use.

Beware - something funny happend the first time I used the new version , and to other people, first start it immediately crashed, but then subsequent uses it has been fine. I think it's related to installing the latest version, but honestly I've no clue why or what caused it.
On the water latest test today in 25 - 30kts against the WOO4. Not bad for 10 bucks.

Hi Nicholas, I would like to ask you have any plans to port the KiteJump app to Fenix 8? I have upgraded to F8 and now missing it as it works way better than Surfr for me :)
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
Done a few days ago, I update it periodically - Fenix models added
&w=96&q=75f?nix? 8 AMOLED (43mm)
&w=96&q=75f?nix? 8 AMOLED (47mm/51mm), quatix? 8 AMOLED (47mm/51mm)
&w=96&q=75f?nix? 8 Pro, f?nix? 8 Pro - 47 mm, AMOLED, f?nix? 8 Pro - 51 mm, AMOLED, f?nix? 8 Pro - 51 mm, MicroLED
&w=96&q=75f?nix? 8 Solar (47mm), f?nix? 8 Dual Power (47mm)
&w=96&q=75f?nix? 8 Solar (51mm), f?nix? 8 Dual Power (51mm)
Thank you! Just installed it on my F8!
Will report back how it behaves when I have a chance to try it!
Just tested KiteJump PRO as ported for Fenix8 in underpowered conditions - way more consistent and precise than Surfr on the same HW! Not a single missed jump, where Surfr often freezes for 3-5 minutes not detecting anything! Just a single outlier jump for 74 of them! After landing a jump I say to myself "That was around X.Ym high" and after watch does its "magic" the height it calculates is usually within 0.5m from my gut feeling. It's amazing how a single developer can achieve better results than an entire company! Well done @dachopper1 !!! It's a pity that KiteJump PRO will never reach the popularity of Surfr, although being more precise and consistent! :(
