How does someone get 5 seasons, let alone 2 out of a kite.
Some people are busy and only get to kite every couple of weeks - even during summer.

I think if you live in WA and its a good season, and you have a job where you can get on the water in the afternoons, you can easily get more time in a week than you can in weeks or months in NSW. Its that different and no need to wait for the noreasters to align with a weekend.
Nope wow a lot of distrust on here I'm a real person just someone who doesn't bother with all the frivolous bull**** on this forum.
1 people being paranoid about someone being an alias.
2 so called credibility from the amount of times you have posted. It's like getting a like on Facebook or Twitter it means nothing like monopoly money.
3 the amount of non related kite post. And the same 12 people who think that for some reason that. This is there domain so obey. I don't run that race mate.
4 I thought this post needed clarity like most post. I'm not hiding anything. I just gave the holy grail of wholesale kite prices.![]()
Sorry if I have made you paranoid kamikuza.
sorry this lacks credibility, you are lacking in seabreeze posts and twitter likes. Oh and my 5yo kite still flies fine

5 years you sit on the sidelines, now suddenly you need to add clarity to this post, unlike "most posts"? Might be nice if we knew a bit now about you and your motivation -- which we'd know if you'd posted more than 6 times. Clearly you're someone we would all recognize.
PS. I see Naish and Liquid Force...how about some others, like Ozone or Duotone?

In other words, dont buy second hand kites from WA!
Cool the jets, not fair to single the rip off artists out at all.
If they can charge 10k for a kite set up and make good money why wouldn't they. It's a cut throat industry i would think with a very intriguing target market.
without working in the industry for too long (only as a kid back when c kites were for men with balls). I would think selling the hrs on the lessons That's where the money is. We all know Vas like kites, apparel, and equipment is the items they sell. Off a good model If the hrs sold cover the over head of the shop then the bottom line np (net profit) is derived from the gp (gross profit) margin of the items sold. if they are not selling the hrs they may as well have a Normal joe soaper job. I Could be wrong they may have super cheap euros working for them on vurking aladay fisas for cash in hand or board ect Then there direct costs go right down.
Seen As they are just buying their job at this stage it's not worth it. I really feel sorry for them, The insanity of owning a business and trying to get people to have care like you do is impossible. You can look around and say they have massive 4wds (possibly booked up) or possibly as write offs you just don't know. Their wife may be loaded their father in law may own a mine. Do the maths on the hrs they could potentially sell in a season then 1/2 it cuz Let's face it 50% productive is a good number for any staff member in this county. Someone with the time Should do the maths off the hrs sold vs the potential sale of equipment to the newbie then work out roughly staff wages super tax insurance, advertising. That List is way longer and back to there market it's not the whole population best of luck with them.
Back in the day kite shops were a monopoly. They could tell you anything, sell you anything, even if it was wrong.
There are more choices now and more information.
I tell ya what. Whats up with the price of a bar? they are just stupid money. I saw one advertised for $880 nzd. That's just nuts. Somebody is taking the piss!
Wow. This topic had it all, and its poor form posting price lists, so they were removed.
Most employees don't understand that businesses are the government tax collectors.
People who don't know business look at the simple equation "Retail - Wholesale =Spending money" ... Nothing could be further from the truth.
Did you know, that the first 10% of the price goes straight to the government asGST?
Then subtract 52 weeks of rent, insurance, wages, advertising, accountants, software, computers, etc.
After that, another 30%+ goes to the government as Tax. (unlike your wages, where the tax is already subtracted)
Oh - and the risk - its a bit like farming, relying on the seasons. You need to stump up some major funds every year.
I've watched and worked with these shops for a long time, and it's a tough gig.
Hats off to them I say.
Be supportive.
