Karen's unit, the local councils love the letters of complaints you guys send them and dont chuckle at them at all.![]()
At least all your guys "Help me sort my 1st world problems" complaints to councils/governments/rangers never end up in more signs, rules and closures of 4x4, camping, kiting areas.![]()
Be proud of helping WA becoming even more of a nanny state than it has already become, it will only get worse for here, never better.
Maybe you could go full Karen and sue her for the mental stress she is causing you and fear you now live in.![]()
Why do all the oldies always say "back in my day we use to sort it out ourselves", but now they are older they write letters to the council or ring the authorities to sort it for them???
There's no dog beach/no dog beach locally and it works. Sure there are occasional rouge dogs and dog owners. But it's easy to anticipate them and act accordingly.
The reality is there will always be rouge people. You can choose a life of annoyance or simply adopt a process that limits the potential damage or your gear and not be annoyed.
Side note. I also have some old man rages at random things. Don't get me started on avocados!....
I'm not sure the half dozen times I've seen a dog destroy a kite in front of my eyes the kite owner could anticipate what was going to happen or had any opportunity to avoid the unprovoked attack.
I will just live in hope that one day indifferent individuals such as you and the selfish individual who is the subject of this thread get one or more of their kites shreaded by a uncontrolled dog, and let's hope it's a $3000 foil kite.
I image you would have a different take on it then.
What a negative approach to life.
Not sure if you read above or not but I've actually been chased by multiple dogs over the years landkiting. Most of which where just having fun, but some who were actually trying to bite me. One succeeded.
Being physically bitten is somewhat worse than a bit of kite damage.
Am I cynical and ragefull towards dogs and their owners? Do I ring up the dog police and ask them to be banned? No!.
Change your mental state to not get annoyed and change your process to limit the chance of being bitten or your kite being damaged and carry on with less worries in life.
Banning user groups from public recreational spaces is a slippery slope that could potentially lead to the banning of kiting in the area.
Well at least we now know that snalberski is not a dog person and is terrified of them, so the only other option is a cat lover. ![]()

I have no problem with dogs whatsoever, but I do have a big problem with irresponsible dog owners who think the rules don't apply to them. They are normally the same ones who do everything to escape responsibility when their actions cause a problem.
I don't make the rules, I just obey them. It is when the rules are broken repeatedly that the status quo is disrupted, which is when councils will start reassessing the existent
laws and allowances. Thanks for everything Karen.

its the joondalup council meetings minute for the 16th of November
Why are you bring up story's of a 9 year old attacked by a dog etc,
was it this dog?
from what you have posted this dog hasn't trashed any kites or killed any kids.
Is it just you dont want dogs on the beach in fear of what other dogs have done, even though this one is there all the time with no problem?
Just enjoy life, dont worry about someone breaking a "rule" if it hasnt hurt you in any way.
If you get stressed out at little things in life, others not obeying the council rules etc.... that haven't actually hurt of affected you,
and spend your time worrying and pondering "what if this happens", you will be complaining and whinging on forums and council emails endlessly and in the future become a very grumpy old man.
Live life without stressing what others are doing if it hasnt affected or hurt you.
Life is awesome, enjoy it.![]()
When I was a kid, if you stood in dog crap, everyone had a laugh, you wiped it of with a stick and carried on with life.
Now its the end of the world if someone stand on a turd and many thousands of dollars in council meeting on how they can stop this disaster ever happening again.![]()

I always find it really funny when I unfortunately have to go to city dweller areas and see people walking around carrying a bag of dog poo with them, lol. Looks so ridiculous.
My motivation is very simple... I don't want my kites damaged in the way I have experienced first hand multiple times. I don't want dog****e on my feet or gear which has happened multiple times . I want my kids not to be terrified by a uncontrolled sprinting dog which has happened more than once.
Me and you know 'yeah he just wants to play' but that doesn't transfer.
Has this dog done those things to you?
Or is it just a dog fear you have?
The kid that lives next door to me is terrified of dogs because every time a dog, even a poodle comes near him the parents pick him up with fear he will be attacked. Im guessing he will end up being allergic to peanuts too cause they wont let him eat them....just in case he might be.
So now the poor kid has a phobia that dogs are all killers and freaks out when he even sees a dog walk past the house. lol.
I think if this dog has been there all the time, hasnt killed all the kids and has never destroyed a kite.......you are stressing about a fear you have that isnt real with this dog.
Chill, let your kids play, have a kite and enjoy life.
Next you guys will be ringing the council that a seagull crapped on your kite at the beach and you pay your taxes and shouldnt have to risk getting bird poo on your kite in a a council area lol ![]()

My approach: "oh, hey that's a lovely dog! I wouldn't let it run around off-leash here though".
response: "blah blah dog is friendly other self justifications"
me: "oh yeah, no totally cool, but some of the locals put ratsak in pieces of meat and leave it here to kill dogs that are out of the dog beach area, just a bit worried cos i saw your dog eating something before"
I use the same approach in national parks, wetlands etc - "oh hey man, just to let you know the DBCA have put a load of 1080 baits out around here, a guy's dog died the other week after running around in those dunes/wetlands/etc"
dog's back on leash and quickly gone, and you're the nice guy, and you don't have to get in an argument with a self-entitled twat

Gold! Nice approach.
People don't realize how serious this issue can be. We and an older woman get attacked on our local. She was mauled by several big dogs and died. Those that tried to rescue her were savaged pretty good too. It was due to irresponsible dog owner who claimed the dogs were sweet and didn't know how that could happen.
We had a pack of pitull cross dogs running around our village for a while killing everything they could track down. They pulled a small dog through the fence while the woman (quite elderly) was still holding the lead. Nearly got her too. The rangers had a hard time stopping it. They took one of my daughters cats, next door neighbors rabbit, and a host of other animals. They came back again while my wife was teaching some young kids art in her studio and bailed her and the kids up while trying to get at our other cat. I got a phone call from her and came home from work. I called the ranger and when he arrived we went into the campground across the street where they were pack hunting rabbits. I grew up on a ranch in Mexico so I know how to handle a rope. I ran and lassoed one of the pitbulls and hogtied that motherf*cker. I was pissed. I dragged it to my house and put it in my van and was going to take it a few hours west and see how it would handle being a wild dog on it's own. The ranger came back empty handed and asked what I was going to do. He scanned the dog and realized that he had caught this dog in the past, and when he returned it to the owner the owner punched him in the face because he was pissed off at the fine. These are the types of owners that should never have dogs. I had to give the dog to the ranger because if word got out and I took the dog away he would lose his job. He needed a police escort to return the dog. My other neighbor, ( who was a super responsible dog owner and had a dog that looked similar and was accused of being one of those irresponsible owners) took other matters into his hands and slowly the dogs disappeared. I don't know what he did, and I didn't ask. But our village has not had that bull** since.

Oh, I was banned? I hadn't noticed.
It's like $2,000 for a mongrel and people are more socially-minded, so there's not a lot of dogs around anyway.
Mmm, whale. Yum.
Cause they cant pistol squat themselves out of a wet paper bag
Nah mate. Its because pulling themselves off with one arm is too easy ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premature_ejaculation)

Is tim? still selling whitegoods in his kiteshop down in chch kami? I always found it funny how most the places like nelson turned into cafe gelato places and old mates like Oi! Wanna microwave? How about a washaar?! As for politics Well you gotto keep those big fellas happy and feeling like theyre important we do the same for the aboriginals over here give them a few flash electric cars give them theyre own health centers etc etc its kind of funny because i know more aboriginal words then most them do its like a few business outfits and a hybrid vehicle every couple years removes all the language and history just pushes it all out of theyre mind somehow.
