lol 16 knots omg thats about double whats possible. To repeat volume does SFA. What makes a good light wind kite and board? That is where you should start ,but jesus 16knots like wtf.

I'm spoilt with the wa wind 16knots is sfa here. Cmon really, the real fun starts at 16 knots? Below that your riding but it ain't the same, just my opinion!not to say people have fun under that for sure, just not for me.

Maybe light wind kiting is like masturbation. It still feels good but doing it with another person is far more enjoyable

I sold my big 10m kite and got a Nugget. Now in lighter wind under 18 knots and small waves I ride the Nugget with my 7m Neo, not bad at all. Others with similar weight (70kg) used 10m and 12m kites on twin tips.

Depends what you call fun. Some think its megaloops in 40knots. I have fun below 16knots, you can still wave ride, jump, handle pass below 16knots. I think if you had the experience using the right gear you would be very surprised how low you can actually go and what can be achieved.

Edges are **** for wave riding and for free riding back and front roll tricks. I've had The 13 m edge and the 17 m aswell . The zypher is a free ride weapon .Its nicer in the air when you upside down and with the nugget it's a light wind surf kite as well . It drifts well in light wind and has edge like qualitys upwind. It has more instant power than the edge.
The 17 m zephyr is quicker than the 17 m edge in turning and pivoting.
The thing is with the edge you won't use its legendary upwind dynamics till you get on a race board .With TT or surfboard riding your pivots sound like the go so I would go with the nugget.

Or go the airush sector .Its more difficult board to ride than the nugget , but its an awesome light to moderate wind boosting board! .Its free ride race fin set up is the key to rocketing upwind!. Nuggets are better wave specific boards.
An old sector 52 cost stuff all these days.
here is a pic in 14 knots on a sector 52 and 17m edge!

Hi mate, I have a fire wire sweet potato which is very similar to the nugget but with a few litres extra volume-and I can get going in 10 knots and up wind comfortably in 12 with a 10 meter Rio 70kg.so with the nugget and your 11 meter pivot you should be very similar, not jumping though just carving on a wave. Would like to try the 13 m edge as well to see how much it would gain me but no demos here where I am.

What size sweet potato you got?

There's this one for sale near me, but I'm worried it may be too small for me @ 78kgs:

Dims: 5'2 x 21' x 2 3⁄8'
Volume: 32.2 litres

Thanks again for all the input, I ended up deciding on the 5,2 nugget tt, I think for lighter days with the pivots will be more fun and also something different.cheers
