This is the best foil DIY yet, good job. Others may have better quality carbon construction, etc, but yours has ATTITUDE.

I looked into TheKiteFoil link for the factory second masts. As of last night, they had some. As of this morning, sold out. So that's that. They do sell the Manta mast, not factory second, for $150 ... so for someone serious about this, still doable, just a little extra $.

Can we get an update on how you're making out?

This project has inspired me to give it a crack. I've bought a couple of masts from Dubai and only need one - if someone wants to buy one off me i'll let it go for $150 (with the **** aussie dollar and postage thats how much they cost). Pickup from Melbourne or I can post it.

They should arrive here in the next few days.

Searching around for foil info, came across this legendary DIY post. Time for a bump. What is the update on this -- still riding it?

For those looking to put together a "cheap" foil with spare parts, TKF still sells the factory 2nd masts, now for $55
http://www.thekitefoil.com/#!e-shop/cre6/!/Parts/c/12087150/offset=0&sort=normal
but then you add $50 for cut to length, plus $20 for threads, plus $65-200 for mast head, plus connectors and hardware, plus really high shipping....may as well buy a complete foil! I think that's may be the idea.

Slingshot seems to have a pretty good deal on parts going....
www.slingshotsports.com/Foil
works out to $220 US for mast, fuselage, mast connector. (All US$ of course, so painful for aussies and canadians alike....$44 for 6 screws?)

If you get this structure, just need to find wings....seems to be no economy wings in the world....so there's a DIY project focus. With more companies making beginner or intermediate foils now, should be more used stuff at the bottom end coming available. Plus, seems only a matter of time before someone in China catches on that these small, light, and relatively simple parts are selling for pretty high prices....and then off she goes.

I have some old 2011 Cabrinha Quad Race fins which look like they could make good rear wings...?

(edit: ignore that price sticker)

Maybe I should make myself a dildo foil.
