Kite clothing business seems like a great way to loose money, do something else.

Thanks again everyone for your input! I got many PMs as well with great tips and insights.

The $6 tees at Kmart are of really good quality, and are an excellent buy. Unfortunately they only come in a few colours.

Being able to give back to the community with photos, vids, new innovative products and designs and sponsoring (riders and events) is a chicken - egg story. Money and time (passion) is needed and this will mostly come from the consumers who make it possible by buying and supporting. The few people behind a brand like EXULT can only do so much.

We organised the event 'King of the East Coast' last year, we are the official NKL (National Kiteboarding League) clothing sponsor, we sponsor some riders, we stocked 2 shops and developed a kiteboarding boardshort and that was only possible because our tee price is $40+

So you buy products from brands like EXULT, Billabong, Ripcurl, Hurley etc to get a cool product and to keep the money in the sport and community instead of letting it flow into big unrelated companies.

I do take everything on board and hope to make some significant improvements!

Cheers!

Great to hear you're giving it a crack! Hope it works out.

I don't understand the above statement though. How would buying Billabong, Ripcurl or Hurley merchandise keep money in our sport? They don't do sh!t all for kiteboarding...

6 years ago I probably would have, if you matched Vinnys pricing.
